Thug? Moi? I prefer the word "vigilante", thankyou... or I'll send the boys round ;P :p

I've got a normal bat, it lives under me bed :D but if I got caught with it in the car I'd have some explaining to do as it hasn't been used in a game of baseball since 1996 ;)
And I'm not to bothered about the "krooklok" aspect of it, it's a deterrent to the casual TWOCer who'd nick a Punto for joyriding, I can't see any organised car thieving gangs targeting a car thats worth less than it's alloys and stereo!
I've heard of some people who'd nick cars like yours, take them to a garage, nick the bits they want, put some steelies on, tow it somewhere and dump it. Then put on bricks and take the steels with them. It happened to a friend's modified corsa - they nicked the car, removed every thing they could (alloys bodykit ice) towed it way to some wasteground, dumped and burnt it.

Also, i heard off my father that he knows of someone who had the engine & gearbox nicked out of his brand new transit in 20 minutes.

I suspect your cars were slightly more desirable/valuable than mine though! (y)

The Capri is worth pinching, but thats got an old-skool Crooklok round the clutch and stering wheel, and I take most of the ignition system out when I park it up.

Umm, no. Cavalier and a Montego?

I don't like the clutch crooklocks - for a few extra quid you can get a more solid steering wheel crooklock. Mind you, if you take most of the ignition system with you then there's no point in nicking it unless you got a trailer to push it on!!

Looks like a baseball bat (lock) in your car may not be such a bad idea....
Useful I'd say.
Matt

Nah, I would just deck him - besides, a normal crroklock would do the job just as well, but it is the better crooklock when compared to the baseball bat.

I've seen first hand the damage a steering wheel crooklock can do. When I started high school (getting on for a decade ago now, it must be time for me to collect my pension soon!!! :D) there was a serious fight outside the chip shop I was in one lunchtime. Don't know what it was about, or who was involved, I just remember seeing them beat the stuffing out of each other - they had a crooklock each. Ain't got a clue where they got them from. It took a full 20 minutes for the police to come (the station was only 100 yards away) and to calm things down.
