Gonna say hello........I picked up a 65 600d, theres a pulley cover on it that reads "Abarth". I was told the car was brought back to the states from Italy. Id like to know what I have, is there a super duper secret website I can go to with this serial number? The front badge says 600, so I suspect thats what it is. I dont know if she runs yet, I personally saw it moving down the street before it was blocked for 6 years. I know Im a newb, but a point in the right direction would be nice if at all possible.

The car has a nice line, sorta like a really small version of a 50 Merc.......I like it, I just dont know if I have a parts car, a restoration for someone else, or a restoration I can tackle...

Thanks.

Hi,
and welcome to FF, :)

"Abarth" are / were a "tuning house" with affiliations to FIAT,
so it could well be a HOT part / motor..

the 600 scene on here is patchy...so I suggest saying hi in the classic 500 section, and seeing where people are getting info and parts,

adding a picture of your vehicle would be good ( you normally need 5 posts to add pics ;))

there are a US company called "MR.FIAT" who advertise on here ..,

good luck,:)

Charlie

Thanks Charlie, I appreciate the welcome!

I had a chance to do a little lookin round before I actually got the car here. I first saw the pulley cover and thought it was an Abarth, but the badge reads 600. The block and chassis numbers match, so I fully believe I have the original car. I dont know anything about Fiat, but I understand the relationship Fiat has with Abarth is the same sorta thing that Ford had/has with Mr. Shelby. Maybe theres a difference, I dont know. I havent yet been able to find any sort of "list", "chart" whatever to tell me exactly what this car is according to the serial number.....from what I have read on this forum, Fiat is terrible about communicating old records to the public. Body patches arent that bad, there is a dealer in Columbus OH, and were in West Tennessee......sounds like an excuse to see some old submarine buddies.. anyway, thanks for the welcome. Theres a lot of information on this site to sift through for sure! Im gonna take your advice and reach out to the 500 folks for sure.
