As the title says i realy am considering going back to 15s as much as i love the 17s i have from Paul R, if im going to get it angel tuned then it doesnt make any dif on 17s also the handling isnt how i like it to be so im gonna lower it 40mm or so on 15s, so im looking to get a nice set of 15s that fill the arches 6.7- 7 inch wide. some that have taken my fancy are Alessio Turbo. opinions pepes

could u drop it 60mm on 15s,that would be gorgs, mite consider that, although there was a lad at our cruise with a 1.8 who had droped his 60mm on his 17s and said it didnt rub with the arches rolled,he was tryin to sell it though, lol

Re: Re: Back To 15s Me Thinks

yes probabaly mate but if anyone knows the roads in Bristol then they know how shite they are. i would love to have a massive drop but dont wanna kill the car. cheers mate.
also just to add i will be selling the 17s (sorry Paul mate) they are a gorgeous set of wheels tsw reflex which suit the bravo down to the ground. these however are unique as they have been finished in a pearl finish and look awesome in the sun. they have yoko's on the fronts which have a shed load of tred. bravo fitment.condition, they are pretty much mint no curbing although they do have a few scratches. this is for a set of 5 one of which does not have a tyre and has heavy curbing. but mabye refurbed. if anyone is interested e-mail me at [email protected].

Re: Re: Re: Back To 15s Me Thinks

Cheers

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Back To 15s Me Thinks

fecking awesome but that might be just my taste, you can choose the volume from 3 choices but you have in between the 3 i went for in between the loudest (sport) and the middle (mid- sport) its very deep and doesnt sound like a nova which is always a bonus. when it heats up after 20-30mins driving, along with my filter my car sound like a flat four engine sweet it just purrs. but can get very loud after hours of driving but i love that once again my personal taste. its a full system by the way.

Danny, i've been thinking about this for so long, that i dont know what to think anymore...

My favourite wheels are TSW Reflex - i'm on 15's at the mo, so i've been thinking about 17's for a while, cos they look spot on on a bravo, but then there's the reduced ride quality that people talk about...

this has obviously made you change your mind about your wheels, you've not had them long off paul r have you?

is there a particular reason why you've decided you want 15's again?

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Back To 15s Me Thinks

yes mate to be honest its the speed loss, no i have only had them from Paul r a short time, but after seeing that nige can now tune my 1.8 its a bit pointless on 17s. to be honest i personnal never felt to much difference in the handling as i always took it steady where i was to scared of curbing them. my dad said he felt a slight difference. but yeah as i said its the speed loss and im looking to tune it aswell mate.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Back To 15s Me Thinks

IMO, the ride is very harsh on 17's, I dread motorway driving as cat eyes stand out a mile when u cross lanes etc, your car literally judders across them, every little interference is greatly magnified.

but saying all that I'd still never swap them for anything smaller, the 17's definatley ooze Bling
lol

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Back To 15s Me Thinks

they do certainly ooze the bling which i have always said comes first for me with my mates as iv said im not racing around so who cares.
but i like people pulling up next to me at the dual carriageway lights thinking what is that. then trying and trying but not going nowhere.on 15s its so much easier in the first few seconds on 17s it takes a lot longer. i had a 1.4 clio trying it on the other day and he kept up until 60. where as previosly i have done a 1.8 16v clio. not that i should be saying this on here someone will come on here and have a go at me now. anyway i do love them to bits and the fact that they are unique adds that x factor but well.
ride quality i never noticed it get the bad as i said.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Back To 15s Me Thinks

cheers for that danny, and mike, yeah that's what makes me :) when i think about having 17's on my car, it would look the tits lowered aswell :)

but i do quite a bit on the motorway, but you can't have bling and comfort, cos that would be greedy lol, i know some say go for 16's, but 16's are just poor mans 17's, they're not sure whether they're bling or comfort, lol!

if i do change my wheels it would be for 17's, and i just know that i'm too interested in making my car look bling so it's gonna be some 17's one day soon :)

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Back To 15s Me Thinks

Danny!!!whats goin on!!!lol...

Anyway..ride quality!!!I have to say there is no difference in ride quality!!!LET ME JUSTIFY BEFORE ARGUEING WITH ME!!!

I have had my new car for a month or so, its lowered already on abarth springs, i was driving on 15s and the ride was harsh!!!i managed to save up and get myself another set of 17s for my black hlx (chromes), they went on this weekend and the ride quality is no different/not noticable anyway! So if the car is lowered then 17's make no difference, i can not comment on a standard car, but i think it would be more of a noticeable difference on a standard set up!!

If your car is lowered then 17s make no difference....well they havent for me!

Paul R

P.S. Dan i will send you some pictures of my car next week, cos you are gonna love it, and you are the only other i know with a black bravo also!!!

paul, sounds good mate, email away :)

how much have you lowered by, by the way?

i'm going to be lowering my car in the next 2 months, on the 15's for now, but hopefully in the summer i'll be getting some 17's

looking forward to seeing your car with chromes on! :)
