I have been in discussions with Superflex - I have ordered their 18mm dia universal bushes and brackets. They have offered to search their stock or have a suitable alternative made if I send them my old bush and bracket. They were very amenable and helpful on the phone - I'll post the results.
Has anyone tried the universal bush and bracket?

No but did find these and other similar separate bushes on the bay...

Anyone had experience with these? £35 is a lot to pay for two lumps of rubber but a lot less than a complete ARB.

Suppose there's still the thorny issue of getting the old bushes out and the new'uns in without murdering the brackets.

No.

I did buy and fit the SAAB 9000 (Part No SPF1816/18) bushes after speaking to Ms Witor ( I had previously emailed her husband and got no reply! ) who assured me that there was no way they could supply as their supplier was in Australia and there would be no call for such over there.

After a making a template of the old bush I carved the poly bushes, making them slightly larger than the existing bush and I have to say the result was stunning! Noise gone but also much better handling and road holding.

Well worth the effort. Very easy to fit after splitting the original brackets and chamfering the locating lugs to ensure both parts came together correctly.

I got a set of Subaru Impresa/Legazy bushes, I cut/grind them down a little bit. Put them in the bracket and welded a little bit of steel plate to keep them in place.

The rubber in the Subaru bushes isn't as tough/firm as in the Fiat ones I took out.

The Subaru seemed like they could fit (little bit bigger), and were the second thing that came to my hands when looking for a new set.

I'm really pleased with the results as far, driven 1000 km since.

I have completed 1500 miles on the universal superflex bushes at £4.95 each. I had to shave a sliver of material from the bush but they seem to be working very well. I sent the old bushes to Superflex so that they can obtain a closer match. No further news yet.
