General Anyone ordered recently?

My car is at last ready to collect on time ! I pick it up next Friday. Can't wait but glad it wasn't delayed as 12 weeks just is too long. My colleague went along yesterday to the garage and saw mine and sent me a pic looks wicked thankfully.
Does anyone know where to buy original 500 mats from as the garage wants £54 which is a rip off?

Ask them to throw them in as a freebie, I did and got them no problem :)

Had a phone call from my dealer today, looks like my car will be arriving sooner than I expected. He says that it could be in the country as soon as the 2nd of Nov, with me able to pick it up from mid Nov.

Can't wait now, :slayer:
Who, How, Who, How, Where, How, How, Who, How

Ordered 7th September.. delivery 2nd November !!!

Hey, Who, Where, How..... ??

Maybe delivery times are getting shorter due to less demand in Europe? The German scrappage scheme has now ended and was 10 times bigger than ours (£4.4 Billion v the UK's £400 Million).

Well I'm one of those annoying ones - but I haven't heard of any more of us as yet! I will still have waited 14 weeks for mine even though it's getting "swapped". What delivery time have you been quoted and how do you know that you will have waited longer than me? The car that I'm getting was already on order, it's just I'm getting it instead of the dealer. It doesn't really effect you or your car or make it any less important - I'm just lucky that I ordered the same one that the dealer had!

you're probably right - I just feel I've been waiting about a million years now... I'm at 12 or 13 weeks now and hoping it'll be here soon so get frustrated if i see someone can seemingly bump the queue! it'll be here soon... sigh...

Nobody's jumping the queue

Am I missing something or could the dealers just have placed speculative orders which they are selling in advance of delivery?

My dealer told me that fiat are pushing order forward for uk at present that is why some wait times are coming down.;) Any case my wait is over now will be getting mine this afternoon (y) Total time 12 weeks.

Lucky you! My dealer told me that weeks ago. I don't think mine is built yet, and I am now 12 weeks since ordering. Told me to phone them again in a couple of weeks....I reckon could go to 16 wks or more at this rate.

I can relate to the frustration some of you are feeling about your car arriving way after someone else who ordered after you. I felt desperate as I ordered my 500c in April yet people who ordered a 500c in July/August seemed to be getting their cars before me.

All OK for me now as finally got my lovely car a couple of days ago and can promise it was worth the wait. I know some possible answers have been suggested here to explain the 'why do some people get their cars earlier despite ordering later' question. It has been suggested to me by someone who should know more than me that the scrappage scheme is playing a part in all this and have to say I wonder if it might be.

Picked my car up today and can honestly say I have never been so nervous driving home - typical weather it was dull, grey and raining but was a smooth drive back. I'm gonna be devasted if she gets bumped or scratched - I know one day its gonna happen but for now I'm enjoying my first 500.

Hi guys, I'm new to this forum and its my first post. Can someone clarify something regarding this scrappage deal to me please. I ordered my 500 on the 22/09/09 with a few little extras as I qualified for the £2000 discount. The dealer gave me a date of around 12 weeks (just before christmas), I paid my £500 deposit and was given receipt with a balance of nearly £9500 to pay. I've read that if the order goes beyond 4 months there may be an additional sum to pay, how so? If my receipt states that I have x amount to pay with both my signature and that of the salesman, how can they suddenly introduce a surcharge whether be VAT or an other additional costs?

Oh by the way, I spoke to the salesman today and he said my car is at status 10? Whats that and how many stages of the delivery are there?

I ordered my 1.2 Lounge on 2nd August & was told it would be 10-12 weeks so was expecting it in the next week or so, Rang dealer yesterday who advised that it wont be here until end December making it actually a 21 week wait.

Has anybody else who ordered in early August heard anything about theirs?

My order of a 1.2 Sport with various extras (hopefully including Interscope but have no idea if I'll get it) on the 26th Spetember. The initial time suggested by the dealer was 14-15 weeks. I spoke to them on Friday and he said that his ordering department suggested it might be 10-12 weeks. Don't know why (dealer is useless so I have no faith in anything they say, although he said he had no idea).

hi ive just ordered a new 500 0n the scrappage deal can anyone shed any light on how long it will take for the paper work to be processed as the garage ive ordered from has a car in stock.

I have just entered for the scrap scheme and I needed a car asap, the dealer had a car in stock so I agreed to take the 500 off his hands in exchange for a fast turn around as my car was on its last legs - however now i have signed on the dotted line they have said that I will have to wait for the paperwork to go through! I have no idea how long this is supposed to take but the have quoted up to 8 weeks!! shocking, what really gets my goat is that the 500 is just sat there when I could be driving it.
Can anyone shed any light on how long this usually takes ?

I cant imagine it been 8 weeks.
just keep on to them.
once they get you a BERR number it shoiuld be straight forward.

Just called my dealer for an update (ordered on 17 September). Car is still at status 10 and is not expected in the country until 4 Jan:bang:.(n)

Not happy:cry:. Really wanted it before xmas and more importantly before VAT goes back to 17.5%.

Dealer said the delivery might end up being this side of christmas, but not to hold out to much hope as the factory is working 6 1/2 days a week and still can't meet demand:shakehead:

Don't suppose they are over impressed either, as the trade in they guaranteed for my current car was based on December delivery and as I do 300 mile a week, the mileage will be creeping up & they will be losing out on re-sale value.
Even less chance of me being able to get any free mats now(n)
