General Anyone ordered recently?

Because the car MUST be delivered within 4 months of the order date or you will not get any money.

So, was having a bit of a panic about this and rang my dealer. Having said that he'd call me back when he had my file out, he called back and said that my car would not be delivered until January (which would take me over the 4 months) but that they had the same model/spec on order that was due to be in the UK on 23 November and they are going to swap my order with that one to make sure I get the scrappage. So I should get my little on in early December!!! :worship: He also mentioned gap insurance to cover the interest/finance thing. Does anyone bother with this?

I ordered mine at the begining of this month but cant do scrappage untill 28th as I aint had car a year untill then.
I dont mind waiting till jan but dont want to loose 2K

I ordered and put my deposit down on the 17th for my 1.2 New Orleans Blue Pop. They have quoted me Dec to Jan. They said they will try and put my name on one of the ones currently being built to quicken the delivery. The Research Garage is across the road from my work place and the sales men and women come in alot to fill up cars so im constantly bugging them for info lol.

I ordered a 500c 1.2 lounge around the 17th August and yesterday was told they had started to build the car.. is it normal that they start the build 4weeks after ordering? they say that it will take another 6-8 weeks, so hopefully it will arrive early november!

Am sure you won't believe it but you haven't had to wait long until they build it. One person here ordered in January and has only just got their 500c and I ordered in April and it has only just been built.

If your total wait time is 12 weeks then this is normal and should be bearable - hope it goes well.

I ordered in July and my car has now arrived in the UK. The dealer is going to confirm delivery date shortly. I was told at the time of ordering that it would be 12 weeks which would be end Sept/beginning Oct. Looks like it may be on time fingers crossed I can't bear it any longer lol ! Will keep you updated : )

GMTV are giving away 2 Bossa Nova white Fiat 500s on today comp and said that Jeremy Clarkson is a big fan of this car - can't be bad me thinks

Don't worry, any orders placed before 31/12/09 will still be charged at 15%. Also, any price increases since placing your order will not affect you either.

My car is at last ready to collect on time ! I pick it up next Friday. Can't wait but glad it wasn't delayed as 12 weeks just is too long. My colleague went along yesterday to the garage and saw mine and sent me a pic looks wicked thankfully.
Does anyone know where to buy original 500 mats from as the garage wants £54 which is a rip off?

Have a look on ebay for mats They'll just get dirty so don't bother spending huge amounts on them as the ones on ebay can just be replaced cheaply

I feel incredibly lucky then, mine was ordered on the 8th august and i pick her up at lunchtime today.

Also my insurance is £200, £240 cheaper than my 11 year old 1.4 puma!

From this I guess we will have several more weeks to wait? The car is standard, except wheel upgrade and side strip. Is this about normal? The wait is getting more agonising!

There is no standard wait as such. Dealers are quoting 12-14 week waits so you should see it inside that period one would think.

You've probably got at least another month to wait.

i have to say - I'm getting really annoyed reading about all these people who've bought on the scrappage scheme who's cars are getting "swapped" with one that's on the way over here... Does that mean MY car, which I ordered and am actually paying full price for is LESS important than everyone else's? I don't see why I should wait longer???????

I'm not so sure, I think the VAT rate will be whatever rate applies at the date of the invoice. If the dealer raises the invoice before the rate goes up then it will be 15%, but I don't suppose they will raise an invoice unless you pay it as they may then, depending on when their VAT bills are due, have to pay the VAT to the revenue before they receive it from you. If they raise the invoice next year then the rate will be 17.5% and I think you will find in the t&c's that they won't swallow the additional tax they have to pay and that it will be passed on to you.

Well I'm one of those annoying ones - but I haven't heard of any more of us as yet! I will still have waited 14 weeks for mine even though it's getting "swapped". What delivery time have you been quoted and how do you know that you will have waited longer than me? The car that I'm getting was already on order, it's just I'm getting it instead of the dealer. It doesn't really effect you or your car or make it any less important - I'm just lucky that I ordered the same one that the dealer had!

Thanks Maxi, I had originally resigned myself to possible November delivery. It does seem very erratic, people getting cars in quite widely varying timescales. My bro's girlfriend got her 500 sport which she ordered at the beginning of June two weeks ago. She didn't do scrappage.

We have gone for scrappage, we aren't having our car swapped, and I don't want or expect special treatment. I will just leave it to the dealer to sort it if it does run over 4 months. I'm sure they have overcome this problem before. It does look though delivery times are getting longer though...
