Lets just say that the dealer doesn't honestly know an exact delivery date till the car is with them. They can give you a rough idea but they will seldom know exactly when.

Just off the phone to my local dealer, the delivery date has been brought forward to 21st December! good news, however I have asked them to re-apply for the scrappage money in October (hope there is still money left in the scheme) this will ensure the deal is done before the 4 month point! they have had a few calls from other garages expressing concern!!

I don't want to **** on your bonfire but I would take any definite estimate like that with a bag of salt. They can't possibly know so precisely when it's going to be delivered at this point in time. Also most people at the moment are waiting at least 12 weeks for their cars and these are people who ordered not long after scrappage was announced so I'd say a lot of people will be waiting more like 14-16 weeks. I ordered about 4 weeks before Miss R for example and she got her car something like 6 or 7 weeks after mine so scrappage is having a big effect on delivery times. I'd put money on your car being delivered in January.
I'm still waiting (see sig). Car was supposed to be in country last friday and dealer was supposedly going to try and apply for a reg on monday (last) and get back to me. They haven't, which I deduce either means it's not in the country yet or it's delayed somewhere

Last phone call to them was on Monday- They said they would try to apply for the reg and ring back- Haven't heard anything. Might ring on Monday- Not one of those who ring everyday, I guess when it arrives they'll call me.
I wasn't complaining BTW, just saying to others wondering about waits where I am now. I know I find it quite useful to see where others who ordered at about the time I did are.

our dealers (who are a real pain) called this morning to say our 500's arrived
however they can't say when we'll be able to collect it something about it being a weekend.we ordered 20th june.
when do they apply for the reg? would ours already have one or will they be doing that now-ish? i have no idea what happens with new cars.
A little late to the party, but went and ordered mine on monday of this week. A 1.4 lounge in New Orleans blue with a red side stripe, black chequered cloth / black ambience. I was told to expect the car sometime towards the end of the year, maybe even January.
No matter, I can wait a couple of months. I'm fairly sure the rust bucket will last that long.

Just called up my dealers to check on my car for the first time since I ordered it on 27th of July. They said its due to arrive in the UK on 10th October, they then need a few days to sort it out and that the worst case scenario it'd be with me the end of Oct.

I know the average wait for a car is 12 - 16 weeks, this is why I have asked them to apply for the scrappage scheme again in October to make sure it is with in the 4 months point. If it arrives in Janauary then that will be 20 weeks wait! so be it, my fire was already out!!!!

YOu never know, maybe you will get it so soon but most people have had to wait longer for their 500's. I would think it'll be late December at the earliest.That bad is it?
What I would do is get the dealer to reappy for it in OctoberGood point but im now worried about the 4 month scrapage time frame

Scrappage scheme will run out of funding pretty soon. If you're interested I wouldn't hang about
Ive already ordered and I'm on the scrapage wagon chris123 but if the 500 takes over 4 months to arrive i'll loose my right to the £2k and end up being stuck with my old snotter cos I cant afford to make up the 2k difference. I like the idea of reapplying for the scrapage to make sure though maxi. cheers
