I've searched back amongst the heater threads - but cannot find the answer - The *little black box heater resistor thing* appears to be undamaged by fire or anything else, however one of the terminals does appear to have suffered some heat damage - the fan does not function.
Could this be due to a build up of corrosion on the contacts resulting in excessive heat? And if so, would cleaning them with a glass fibre pen, removing the oxidation get the blower functioning again?
What are the chances that a fuse has melted due to this?
Also, could the black box be bypassed and replaced with a fixed resistor and switch?
