Thing is with diesel remaps, unless you are asking for the ultimate in power, popular maps that have been tried and tested many times should be fine. The OP has had a succesful original map and an apparently succesful second one as well. The price is decent, they come to your home and do the job, so for £200 I'm in.
I've had remaps before from Celtic and they have been fine and the Seat Forum seems to have reasonable reports on Angel.
I'm only after a bit more oomph from my JTD, not pub figures, so that should be okay for me.
If it was a different kind of vehicle, with bespoke mods, then a specialist mapper on a RR would be the way to go, but I've seen catastrophes happening in those situations as well.
I'm happy to report back afterwards and will be happy to judge as I find.

i think you are getting prices mixed up, mobile mappers are charging 300 plus travel costs.
its r tech and red dot that are giving the 200 price for better maps.
be careful what forums you believe as some mappers are staff on some and delete any posts that go against them

ill be at the sandwich short of a picnic this weekend ill be in a dark blue 51 plated with a blue trailer should anyone wish to talk about any issues feel free to come and say hello.
sad to hear you wont be organizing the ubb anymore it is an excellent weekend one of the best events I have been too for ages! im sure there will be plenty of volunteers to keep the show going for many years yet.

No, there is no mixup. I booked mine in for a map next week, on the phone with Nigel today and he did indeed confirm that it was a special he was running and it is £200 all in and installed at my house.
I can understand your reticence with this area, as from a couple of posts I read, it seemed you had an issue of some sort, following a map. Fair enough, as I said speak as you find.
I do have a little experience of what the modified Multi should feel like and the little foibles under hard acceleration if you're not careful as I ran a 51 plate JTD multi almost from new for 3 years with a digital tuning box.
I ran a TDi Seat Altea with a Celtic remap for over 3 years as well, and had a custom map done when my sports car had a turbo kit. RR for that one.;)
I know forums have folks around who are affiliates and such and those who regularly read what is written about them. I am a mod on an MR2 forum myself and have spent a few years on seatcupra.net.
I will report back on here, to share my experience, no problem.
Hopefully my experience will be positive,a lot of multi chaps are satisfied, so some signs are good.
I do appreciate you trying to add a balance, no worries.

No, a remap should be a lot better than a tuning box and I have plenty of experience of remapped turbo diesels to work out whether there has been an improvement and where that improvement is.
Dave, it would appear that you have something against this company, that is clear, but I'm trying to be objective about the thread that the OP started and his experience with this company.
His feedback on this particular car and his previous one is positive.
Another member suggested a special offer, which prompted me to go for similar and I have promised to add my feedback after mine is done.
I'll try and keep it as objective as possible, so hopefully the thread can be edifying.

Can i just add!
Firstly it is now apparent Dave has major issues with Angel, accepted.
Secondly angel did not 'sell me anything' I went to them on past experience which was positive. I think Dave will agree, if you know where you get good service you will always go back.
thirdly, I have no ties, monetary or proffesionally with Angel, it would seem to me and others that Dave has some 'link' with Red dot' what it is i don't know and to be honest don't care. But by all means reply to a post and inform people about other products and services but don't make yourself look like a spoilt child and slag another company off, as you said have a look at the forum and make your own mind up!

i have no links with red dot and they are not the only company i have recommended in this thread, i mentioned them to umberto because he lives near them.
how ever i was at red dot when for fun i stuck my car on the rollers with an angel tuning remap, it was then i found it was well down on power. i them mentioned this on the forum and angel tuning said the map they had sold was was a bad one of a batch they bought from red dot. angel then offered to put it right if i drove 40 miles away from my house and met them at a rolling road they wanted to use. they then repeated that it was all red dots fault because they had sold them bad maps, so they then loaded me another map that have even less power, after my self and another moderater of the forum studied the graph and realised that Nigel had pointed to the wrong figures on it and infact they was less power with his new map we went back to confront Nigel with our findings, he ran off and hid. Later he claimed he was just busy with another customer, having driven all that way at his request i would have thought he would at least finish with 1 customer first.

so they sold me a map they claim they later thought was bad, so why did i have to contact them, why did they not contact all the people they had sold them too and offer a refund?
why did he not compensate me for having to drive to get the map put right that didn't?

I mentioned to red dot what he had said about it being all their fault and they just laughed that he would say such a thing, but they did then remap my car properly as good will.
What is even more strange is when Nigel first came to map my car he said he couldnt do it as i had a different ecu to all the other sporting he had seen and that he had to get me a new map from Italy and come back another day.

I have since found out my ecu is the same as everyone elses.
So why did he say he had to get me a special map from Italy but then another time say it was from red dot!

to this day angel tuning have not offered a refund in part or full for selling a product that did not match the description.

so as you can see i am quite with in the forum rules of only commenting after first hand experience, and if i can stop other of our members also being taken for a ride then i will.

the car feeling different after is often a placebo effect especially if an induction kit is fitted first.

It always looks dodgy when a new member with only a few posts suddenly starts to promote and recommend a company they claim to have no links with.
