I recently bought an 03 Multipla to replace the old 'w' reg one which had been chipped by Angel. The old one was a 105 that had been done to 130. The 03 is a 115 and I thought the extra power of the 115 would mean that i did not need to get the new car chipped. how wrong i was! compared to the old w reg car this new vehicles power was emabarassing to say the least. It lacked power, never seemed to be in the correct gear and was just generally rubbish. I thought that i had made a mistake getting a 115 multi. All the filters got changed along with the cam belt, next stop was a call to Nigel at Angel. The 115 can be chipped to 150! something that wasn't possible on the old car due to a different design of clutch. Anyway Nigel came up to me chipped the car and well, to say it is a different car to drive is an understatement. Economy is UP power is there if needed but mostly for me the driveability has improved massively. Stick it in 5th and it will do 30mph at 1000rpm and return 42/44mpg that is before the 20% conversion factor to Uk mpg. Anyone even thinking about getting their car chipped, stop thinking GET IT DONE! Big thanks to Nigel At Angel.:D:D:D:D:D:D

I am considering it but £300 is way too expensive. If they bring their prices down then definately.

Where are you getting your prices from? List price is £250 but at the moment Angel have a summer deal on where youcan get a multi done for £200. I got 2 other friends to get their cars done at the same time (their cars were a ford and a kia) and it dropped the price to £175 each. Bargain. Give Nigel a call or have a look at the website to see what offers are on at the moment. You will NOT be dissapointed.

Can I also point out that in no way am i connected with Angel Tuning but just want to spread the word

I hear what you are saying about before and after power gains etc. But Angel are a reputable company and their files have been developed and dyno tested. sure your car may not give exactly 150 hp or whatever due to tolerances within the engine, but i can tell you having had it done that the car now, irespective of whether it has 150, 142.6, or 155hp is not relevant. My car is now more driveable, has more power (a lot more power) and is better on fuel. If you are one of those people who think they are getting ripped off because the remap only gave you 148.2hp instead of the 150hp claimed then you need to get a life! A dyno run will show you a figure, I have driven the result. Dont let people on here put you off because you can't prove it on paper.

reputable company lol. have you used forum search on them? how do you know its fuelling right for your car if it was a map made on another car?

i am not saying only getting 148 instead of 150 is the issue, most cars have different power standard, what you need to measure is the gain.

its not worth paying 300 quid for a doorstep map. you may as well just download the software off the net get a lead and map it your self

Dave,

Just been on Red dot website and to me it looks like they are doing pretty much what angel are doing.

Ok so they have a rolling road but on their Q/A they even say that hp and torque graphs are (quote) 'meaningless to the majority'. They say (quote) 'the real experience is in the driveability of the car' i think that was what i said about mine.

I'm not particularly interested in what the exact h/p is. So your telling me that at red dot they dont load a new 'map' from a laptop through the obd, but instead painstakingly map each individual car with a fresh map that they tailor make per car? I think NOT! I Have nothing against red dot, i'm sure they are VERY professional at what they do and i agree there are some 'tuners ' out there that will do your car but from where they have got there maps is anyones guess.

Used angel before, very satisfied, have used them this time, again satisfied. No matter what we write here people will make their own decisions based on cost and venue. Just trying to let people know that i have had no problems with Angel which goes a long way if you are considering having your car done but don't know anyone who have used them.

'meaningless to the majority' but nessesary for any good mapper to make sure your car is fueling right.
red dot write all their own maps as do most proper tuners, then its tested and tweeked for your car if needed.
there is also another proper tuner that offers proper mapping for forum members at 200 they are in the midlands RTech

Dave, I have just read your posts re: Angel Tuning with disgust!
You ought to be more careful how you lambast companies on an open forum my friend.
Some of your points may be valid, then again they may not, that is not what I am arguing with you about. You seem to me to genuinely have something about Angel Tuning that disatisfies you and I for one would love you to talk plainly and openly so we all understand and can formulate our own opinions. Failing that retract your statements!

I have known Angel tuning for close on eight years as being the main organiser of the Ugly Bug Ball I know they have attended every Ball and performed many many remaps and diagnostics and then made more than generous donations to our nominated charity.

Speaking as I find is the way I work. I was a UK Sales manager for a large Italian Lock company many years ago and I know how fickle sales gets when people talk, as you are now, about a company. Be realistic! Not every Map or tune up will be totally successful no matter what company you are. If they were generally a poor company they would be out of business but when I last looked they were not. That in my mind speaks volumes!

Angel offer a money back guarantee. If its not what you want, for any reason, they give you the cash back...seems fair to me!

Sadly, when I had my 08 JTD done there were problems and Nigel tried and tried to get it right only to find that at 15000 mile old, my car had an EGR fault. He never moaned, never complained, despite calling in from many miles away and then he successfully diagnosed the EGR fault even though a main dealer had failed twice!

I stand by what I know. Angel tuning are a good small company. offering a more than reasonable servie at a more than reasonable price.

Finally, you mentioned "how do you know its fuelling right for your car if it was a map made on another car?"

I answer it with a question....what is the map on EVERY Multipla from the factory if it is not a map made on another car!??! Indeed what is the MAP on any production car if it is not a MAP made on another car!

Moderators...choose whom you wish to moderate....I will post this on another forum if you choose me!
Moriarty the Mundane and deeply offended!

you can have your opion but i post facts. fact still stand they charge a third more than other companies that offer a better service with full diagnostics to our members.

how long you know some one or how much they give to charity has nothing to do with anything. i have also known the nigel bloke for many years he was even staff here at one time.
I have also known Jim magill for many years who raises thousands for charity, by your reckoning that must mean Jim can map peoples cars.

your affiliation with ANGEL TUNING is what keeps me and others away from the ugly bug ball and the multipla owners site

Sorry, I cannot follow your logic at all...

Oh, dear... well I am sad you have said that as I thought the idea of our forums was to help people enjoy their vehicle? Yours, by helping all the Fiats out there and ours by honing in on one model, hence why we are only at about 2k membership.
It would appear from what you say that you and others have a dislike of Angel and for reasons I can't understand, have transferred that dislike to our forum with out ever having attended. I now know why we seem to have little support from this forum, infact I am banned from making new posts I can only tag on to others, even though I/we try hard to help fellow Multi owners and sportingly we also promote your forum!

Therefore, to help put things right, I think that next May it would be nice if you came down with some of your friends to Billing Aqudrome to see just what the UBB is about and I personally invite you to come over!

BETTER STILL!! What are you doing this weekend?

Come and join us at Sandwich in Kent for Panda's "One Sandwich Short of a Picnic meet!"
No Angel tuning in attendance, organised by an active member of your forum and we can have a beer together and get to know one another well and put the world and it's forums to rights!!

Moriarty...

Is there a point to all this?

It's of value to us all when a forum contributor lets us know of poor service or particularly good service they've received from a company - but at the end of the day everyone chooses whatever company they wish for whatever service.

It's also good to be made aware of alternative suppliers of similar products.

Mind you, I shudder at the thought of the UBB, but whatever turns you on!

Banned from making new posts?! Where do you get that from?

I wont mention any names... but I was informed to:

please re read the forum rules

If you are a staff member of another forum, you can only link to THREADS and POSTS on your forum if they are relevant to the topic.

https://www.fiatforum.com/rules.html

I took this person to task as I dont want to break any rules as in my position moderating the Multipla Owners yahoo site, I too, would not like to have people breaking the rules. Sadly this person was not very forthcoming, from memory and I backed down as diplomacy is the best way forward!

However, I felt Icould not post as I had had my post deleted. Perhaps it was a one off... but, I have not made new posts at all since only piggy backed off odd posts that seemed in need. It sort of left me with a bitter taste in my mouth to be frank!

For info I was supposedly performing "Blatant Advertising" as I was informing fellow Multipla Owners of a website I had made full of repairs and info that would be of use to them in times of need.
I see blatant advertising all over this and other forums and was more than surprised at the VERY negative response I recieved.
Bearing in mind some of the info on that site is taken from this forum and I duly acknowledge that in each case, I am still, to this day, amazed at the attitude directed my way, the Multipla Yahoo group in general the UBB and One Sandwich Short of a Picnic!
We should work together, not fight and flame, or become a "Web Warrior" life is too short and at my age is getting too short for comfort!
Moriarty..

P.s My invite still stands...both for this weekend in Sandwich and UBB in May which incedentally I have just given up organising as with a very ill Mother in Law I no longer have the time! Perhaps this forum could help?

Because it wasn't just Pandabloke that organised it my friend... it was me too and I did it at his request!
But as I can see your going to make this thread go on and on and on for all the wrong reasons I will bow out gracefully now as frankly it is becoming childish!

My invitation still stands...but I detect a feeling that you will not attend. Sad really...

That is all a long story but we as a forum cannot support ill practising businesses. We are a true and Honest forum so will only Divulge opinions of this nature if it is absolutely true.
All of the troubles with AT are still on the open forum here for anybody to research and find out for themselves.
we not all words here, we help members in real life too when we can

Does that mean your going to sell me that car for £300

So where is this meet and what day. Is it in Sandwhich (kent) or have i got the wrong end of the stick.
I am at another meet most of the weekend but may pop down if its at all possible.
