From what I know, the subs are connected to each other if that helps? My mate who is an electrician sorted it out today :/

Really need to know what Ohms the subs are.

Edit:- sorry I got way laid and started posting and missed a load of conversation. Could you ask your friend to check the resistance of each sub and how many coils each one has. I.e they could both be Dual Voice Coil of 2ohms. That means there could be a number of different ways of wiring them together. It's impossible to suggest an amp to run them without this info.

I would also be looking into why your amp blew. Cheap or not to smoke an amp you probably have wiring issues. Possibly suggesting your subs are wired to 1 ohm which your amp possibly wasn't stable at and didn't have the necessary protection circuitry to stop it from blowing up. If this is the case then your lucky to have a car at all now. 80% of car fires are started by people installing electronics badly.

I will have to text him to find out, so i most likely wont know a answer till tomorrow but im pretty sure that the subs are 2ohms.

That is positive to negative isnt it?

if i cant find nothing decent for less than £150 then i will simply just buy the one for £190.

the people who i bought the equipment off gave me a 400 watt wiring kit however i felt a bit wiry about this as i thought straight away that the power outlay was much stronger than this? but they was 100% sure that it would be powerful enough so do you suggest i buy a 1000watt wiring kit off ebay?

If your a bit strapped for cash why don't you look for something second hand. You clearly need a bit of time to read up and learn a bit more otherwise whatever you buy is likely to be an expensive paper weight. So you have time.

I know it's tempting to jump in and have sounds ASAP but its not worth doing in the long run.

I understand what you mean but this stuff wouldn't sink in, do you think
I should go to a proper audio place and just show them
The set up as they can see it and potential offer me a amp?

Of cause it will sink in. Once you have read up a bit it will make sense.

I don't always trust Local retailers. If it's a well respected one then you will come out with a good amp that is absolutely suited and at areasonable price.
9 times out of ten you will come out with some unmatching fli/ vibe/ edge rubbish because that is all they are allowed to sell.

You can tell a good retailer because they will have higher end stock. But this requires knowing what high end is to tell.

Find out what resistance your at and I'm sure we can help.

And where do I find that out? Sorry to be a pain lol

Just have a general read of this section. Type in Ohm, RMS etc etc. Just have a read. That is honestly the best way to learn the basics. Then when you have questions. Ask them... We will do our best to answer ASAP.
