So basically ive had a sort of boot build made for my car however I have two hifonic subwoofers and the outputs for one subwoofer is:

450 Rms
900 Peak

So can somebody suggest a decent amp that I can buy as I bought one and it was no good it blew up within five minutes of turning the music up :bang:(n)

However I don't really want to spend too much money but if I have to I will.

Sure, if you want another to blow up ...

Edit: That came across a bit harsh, sorry. Have a look on caraudiosecurity, ebay, plenty of places to look. You know at least what rating you need so that's 1/2 the battle. Once you have an idea of what you like the look of, have a google for reviews.

This is going to sound really dumb but I'm useless with these type of things. If the Rms for the two subs will be 900 watts, then the peak of both of them will be 1800 watts surely that is to much for that amp?

it shouldn't do any harm if the sub requires more power then the amp provides it just wont sound as good

as long as you dont have the amp wacked up to full trying to get the most out of it

that link doesn't say rms or peak so it could be either

just because it is high powered doesn't mean it has to be loud

depends if he is going for sq or spl

volxstu has something like 200w rms coming though his tweeters alone

I know some people like boss and can agree they are ok for the money. Hifoniks are a little better than ok. There is no Point in having good subs if your going to drive them with a lesser amplifier.

Subs don't output power. They take in power. Under driving a speaker is only likely to blow it. Power doesn't kill speakers clipping signal does. By using to low power you will be likely to turn the gain up too high, clip the signal and smoke the sub.

Ideally you need to let us know what coil configuration your subs are as you would be better off connecting them together and running off of a monoblock amp. Which one is impossible to determine as the power output of the amp will be different dependant on the final impedance of the subs.

Ok sorry back on track. Never ever look at max power is a load of ****** lol. The RMS is around 900w combined so you want an amp that is at least 1000w RMS at your desired impedance.
Your standard charging system is good for around 1500w RMS. But I would recommend upgrading some of the standard power cabling or what we call "The Big Three"

As for 1000w RMS being loud I suppose it can be given the right speaker and enclosure. I got 127db from my sub (measured from the windscreen) on happy hardcore. The hifonics I predict to hit 130-138 off 1k (more like 135-138 if it's a half decent box)
But then it depends what you wanna do with the power. I would say that's about what I'm using for my mid bass if comparing Mofset to class D.
