alternator belt

ok here goes again. i have got the crank sensor off (hole punch to the side of the rusted bolt dont the trick) now i can not get the belt on seme to small to go over the lip on the alternator wheel am sure its the rite size as when it goes over it will loosen up again but cna no get it on all 3 which is the best way to get a fa belt on ? fiat seciento 900cc r reg

thanks all for the imput i wasnt able to mesure the belt as it snapped on me last night and only found bits of it. managed to get it over the alternator wheel but had to take bottom adjusting bolt out and loosen the top 1 a fair way out for it to dron another half inch then it just slipped rite over .thanks again people

I assume that is not a "stretch belt"? i.e. stretch belt is heavily elasticated and has to be carefully stretched over the pulleys.

Stilo Abarth uses one.
