On my manual dynamic, the accelerator was plastic, you just drill straight into it. The break and clutch were rubber covered.

Hope this helps.
Thats cool thanks..
Could you tell me, when you say "drill straight into it" is that to be a hole big enough for a nut and bolt or do you use self tappers and just make a pilot hole ?

I wouldn't recommend self tappers mate the pedal might come off at speed. (& we all know what you're like with speed & I'm not talking about the white stuff! :D )

I never touch the stuff :D

Yeah i was worried about that fact Ben, but looking at the gas pedal, how do you get a nut on the back of that...
I did only have a quick look mind, because the car was under the carport and i couldn't open the door too much. But it looked as though there was quite a lot of plastic or metal behind the face of the pedal.

Simple mate! drill a pilot hole then increase your drill bit size to get the right aperture for your nuts & bolts to go through. Are these the same pedals off Ital-tuning.de?

Benny, not 100% sure what you're saying with that but it's either go up in stages or just create a pilot hole and go up to the correct size.

If the former, you shouldn't do that where possible, it leads to tearing of the metal, you should use a punch/a thin drill piece to get the correct position then use the correct size (maybe this is what you're saying), if it is slightly below use needle files if too small for a normal file.

no mate they are Momo ones.
For the nuts and bolts to go through to where though ?
Are there spaces under there to get a nut on the back ?
Like i say i haven't had a good look, but what im worried about is if i get a set of pedals that are not for the Stilo Selespeed specifically, will i be able to get those nuts on with all that plastic/metal crap under the pedal face.
Maybe the ones that are designed for the Stilo have the bolt reccess in exactly the right place to get them on in between the crap.

OR....

Maybe i should shut up untill i've had a good look at the pedals as im probably just rambling on about something thats not even significant :D

I wouldn't know mate I think you've probably been at the computer too long! lol! :D Back to the topic in question. I've only ever fitted one set of alloy pedals & that was in my Audi quattro coupe about 7 years ago, but all I did then was drill a small pilot hole with I think it was a 4mm drill bit & then went up to 6mm for the nuts & bolts. The pedals should come pre-drilled you just have to mark out where on the original pedal faces. Any chance of a link as I might have to get a set now. (y)

And if the predrilled holes are in a possition that lines up with that crap under the face of the pedal ? :bang:

Here look.....

Pictures a bit naff as i couldn't open the car door and it was dead dark, but you get the drift.

Thanks for pointing that out  ;) (sorry about the late night sarcasm) I hadn't actually seen that TBH. I would say have a look to see if there's any wires coming from the pedal bottom as being drive by wire the plastic behind could be some sort of stop. If not cut it all off. (y)

OMG this job gets worse by the second... I think i'll take the car up to the tuning shop tomorrow and get them to have a look how feasable it is before i spend the money. They may even have some pedals there....
Cheers for the help Ben... i'll keep you posted.(y)

When they put the Fiat pedals on do they take te original ones off or do the also drill a hole into thema and bolt the new ones on????
I was thinkin' of getting the fiat ones and i wanted to know how hard they are to fit 'cause i'd rather fit them myslef than pay 30 euros an hour to have them fitted by some idiot!!!!!!

Hi Mike, thanx for that. Do you know if the bolts go right the way through from the face of the pedal to all the way under the "crap" as we call it :)

Or do the nuts fit in somewhere inside the "crap" , like between the pieces ?

Hi

They go through the pedal it self, not all of the way to the stopper??? i.e. the bolts are about 1cm long. I hope this makes sence, its hard to explain.

On the accellerator pedal, the left bolt goes easily through as there is nothing directly behind. The right bolt goes through to the hollow part behind, i.e. approx directly above the top arrow on the picture that you have posted previously (This is a bit more fiddly, but not too difficult).

I hope this makes sence (i don't think that I understand and I wrote the damn thing!!!).

Thats just what i needed to know Mike, thankyou ! (y)

I totally understand what you're saying there, and it's what i have been trying to get at from the begining  ..

So, from the look of the Momo pedals I would presume that the screw/bolt holes are the ones here marked with the red arrows ?

And the things pointed out with the blue arrows ?
Are they some kind of retaining lug to help prevent the pedal slipping around, so i would need to put a few small holes in the pedal to sit them in ?
Or are they just there for show ?

IF those are the screw/bolt holes that i have pointed out, then surely this pedal will not fit and ones made specifically for the car may have to be used... Typical bloody Fiat :(

Not sure on other pedals but mine were secured with Hex key fittings on top of the pedal and nuts on the back of them obviously holes were needed to be drilled for the bolts to go through.....

HTH

Well i spoke to Mike Stokes motorsports today and they said they will supply and fit some from a massive range they have in catalogues.

They did say the plastic pedals are a pain in the ass to fit over, if they are not pedals from the manufacturer of the car, but they will adapt some to get them on... I like that shop :)

Still no luck Mark? Where did you get those images from?(of the new pedals I mean) Another suggestion would be heavy duty double sided tape also known as mirrorpads. Thanks for the "big up" Bo but I'm a bodywork man not an engineer, you need CNC lathe skills to turn out decent stuff in metal like pedals. (y)
