General Alarm "bleep" when locking

Trouble is the alarm was fine before I messed with the country codes - it was locking/arming and unlocking/disarming well and it used to go off when necessary.
Now after changing the codes the LED goes flashing straight after locking and few seconds later the alarm goes off every time, so basically I can't use the remote locking now.

The car battery was replaced last year or the one before, but will check the voltage with engine on and off when I get home tonight and will report here.

An update now - voltage is 13.94 with engine running and 12.44 engine off few hours later. Battery is Bosch S5 Silverplus 63Ah (wanted to get the best possible one by the time).
Still alarm goes off few seconds after arming/locking and led gives 9 flashes.

If I get another alarm from the scrapyard - will be just a matter of a swap and no programming? It might be cheaper than going to the maindealer and have mine reprogrammed...

9 flashes = power supply +Battery
as stated in the manual.

This is why the battery has been discussed, but unfortunately it's not that. And I don't believe there would be anything wrong anywhere, as the alarm started going off straight after I messed with the country codes.

And even if I go back to UK - still goes off.

Just a couple of thoughts for you.

Boilermansab mentioned it has some small batteries. It'd be with finding them and replacing. Shouldn't be too difficult , or expensive, to buy in the days of internet shopping.

I'm also wondering if you've disturbed some wiring whilst changing the country codes. I'd start looking at both the wires going into the alarm, and also in case anything had loosened at the car battery end.

Thirdly, I know this is 6 flashes rather than 9, but I've had problems before with the bonnet sensor as it only just reaches when the bonnet is closed. As you've been pressing on it to change the country code it may also have dropped slightly. It could be worth trying to adjust it.

Im pretty sure those batteries are in the passenger wheel arch...I changed my alarm to silent a few years back so armed myself with all the literature I could find efore I went at it(took a few attempts too IIRC)...anyway I do remember reading that there are batteries there for the alarm.

The siren is just behind the passenger side indicator..I found access improved by removing the indicator.. Its just a spring clip that holds it on the wing. Then you can see the siren. 4 Philips screws on the box and open it up..pretty simple. Oh and u have to disconnect the multi plug on the siren

If you find them post up the battery code for us.
Also I bet if you just put a supply voltage here while you adjust your alarm beeps you could just stick it back together and all would be fine.

Hi, car has been checked at Fiat garage. I really thought it was a matter of reprogarmming it back to original state but it wasn't (I had booked it in before the last posts, so thank you guys anyway). And also a few owners in this topic have reported the same issue with the alarm going off and 9 flashes but no one said whether it was sorted at the end.

What they said at the garage was - "probably" it is the internal batteries in the alarm/siren so we've disconnected/removed it (as nobody is gonna steal a green Multipla ).
At the question - Why did you not replace the batteries? they said - Well, we don't do that.
Sorry is it me being an idiot?
At least they've done a full check over and I know what needs doing on the suspension so the £62 quid is alright ish.

Anyway - at least the alarm and it's frame are out, the frame will be rust free hopefully tonight and the alarm opened and checked. Will report and post pictures later on of course.

Hi again.
The square headed bolts holding the alarm to the metal frame were gone completely rusty so I've now ordered a new frame and bolts for a bit more than £20 which is fine.
I am not being silly, I know it is not worth it at all, it's just bugging me and I want to fix the bl**dy alarm

As apparently the old internal battery was flat I bought a new one on eBay for £11 and it's coming hopefully tomorrow. I have though checked the voltage of the old one and it's showing on the multi-meter 7.62V.
How comes?

Will report what happens with the new battery!
