Technical Airbag Failure Message

After replacing the switch (as i couldn't turn my headlights off, after replacing switch they now work fine) and reconnecting the airbag and steering wheel i now have a 'Airbag failure see handbook' message and red airbag light. This wasn't happening before i took off the airbag and steering what could it be? will a simply code erase fix the problem?

If you didn't disconnect the battery when you removed the battery it will more then likely just need to codes clearing from the ECU

Ye i disconnected the battery before i started removing the airbag and steering so hopefully it is just a code because i disconnected the battery
