Technical Aerial base

How do you remove the roof lining to access the aerial base? My dab failed ages ago so going to swap it. Has anyone done this before? Thanks!

Remove boot trim and pull the 2 plastic retaining plugs from the roof then take out both the side panel trims the fixings screw for those are behind the airbag emblem


Don't worry the air bag is not behind this partyou should then enable to pull roof lining down enough for access to the 13mm bolt

Can't these bases be repaired at all, my 2017 1.6d has the same fault and the idea of spending £90 ( the cheapest I've found) just to listen to radio 2 hurts

Thanks, waiting for your outcome. Further to my problem twice in the last week I've got a DAB signal ( and held it ) once when the car was being jet- washed and once when parked on the drive 4 ft from the wi-fi router. I have no idea if this is relevant .also since my washer bottle ran dry, no water comes out of the rear nozzle.

I got mine (base + aerial mast) from Shop4parts - £142 inc VAT + delivery

I managed not to need to remove the side panel trims - I got the roof liner pulled down just enough to access the bolt.

It only took 45mins and would have been quicker but when I fixed the new base in place - I didn't have it quite straight and it wouldn't tighten up. Had to undo it and try again a couple of times. Someone else keeping the base straight from the top whilst it was tightened underneath would help a lot.

Really glad to have this fixed as a lack of a properly functioning radio was annoying!

So much for taking it to a 'car audio specialist' that thought more than an aerial problem was going on and that it was a amplifier problem instead .

Also, I'd actually taken my car to have another fault code read and - on the printout - it also gave the audio fault which was, in my case, very intermittent DAB, total loss of MW and poor FM reception:
