Technical Advice needed re: wiper operation

Hi,
Not long owned a Seicento 1999 0.9litre and thought all was working correctly but appears I may have a problem with the front winscreen wipers so am looking for any advice please.
The right hand stalk which operates the wipers has the following functions for front wipers only:
push up - wipers operate a single pass
click down to first position - wipers operate intermittently
click down to second position - wipers operate continually at a fast speed.

I would have thought there should be a slow speed as well. Can anyone advise me please?

If that is all the switch positions you have, that is working fine.

I've not had a seicento in a long long time, but i think only later mpi models had intermittent, slow and fast (3 settings) and the earlier (pre 2000) ones only had intermittent and on (2 settings).
