Hi I am new to this site - can anyone tell me how to tighten up the hand brake? It does not hold on hills or slight hills.
Is there an easy way to do this?

Thanks:eek:

pull off the plastic cover surrounding the hand brake lever, taking care to disconect the 4x4 switch if its got one, release handbrake lever, making sure your on level ground, chock wheels if needed, tighten nut at the end of the cable where it attaches to the handbrake lever, take up slack, (not to much) adjust so you've got about 3-4 clicks when hand brake applied, make sure rear wheels are turning freely when handbrake has been released, re connect 4x4 switch, put plastic cover back on,

Hi,
MOST systems SHOULD be self-adjusting.. so if it no longer works something is amiss,

tightening the cable should help short-term - BUT do that then get the brakes checked properly for wear,
