Is yours a 2-door, by any chance? I had the same problem on my daughter's 2-door. I'm quite long in the body too. The upper belt anchorage is on the pillar, which is further back on the 2-door. Anyway, no, I'm afraid there isn't. There's a torsion spring inside the belt retractor whch on no account should be disassembled. Purely aside from the "never-run-with-scissors" safety implications, it goes all over the place when you release it and you end up with several yards of spring steel all over the place which will never go back in!
to stop the belt dragging (or one of those food bag clips or similar). You'll never get a car manufacturer endorsing them though, because any slack in the belt in a crash is asking for a broken collar bone!
Having the seat in its lowest position helps too.
