I've searched and cannot find an answer for the 2012+ model. I'm looking to feed a power cable through from the battery, into the cabin to feed an amplifier, but I cannot for the life of me find a grommet or obvious access point where this could be fed through. Has anyone done this or know where the obvious grommet/access is?

I have seen where it is on the 169 model, but this is wholly obscured on the 312, unless I'm being a bit silly, which isn't rare!

Thanks.

Apparently there is something to use if you remove the scuttles/trays under the wipers but I've not done this myself - I would be interested too, as I'd like to run a cable for some lights. I thought about using trailer cable (so something with 7 cores) so I'd only have to do it once.

There is a route that is identified for the power cable required by most tow-bars. I haven't looked for it but I seem to remember someone has posted a how to guide which includes the Westphallia instruction manual.

OK here's the link but it doesn't include the electrical install https://www.fiatforum.com/threads/westfalia-towbar-4x4-and-cross-fitting-instructions.496158/

I installed the same towbar and know there is a route, as above it requires removal of scuttle panel etc - I took my cable up the passenger door under the weather seal and popped it out in the door shut and under the bonnet seal - lazy but you don't see it.

I used the route through a grommet which is up behind the glove box. It goes through into the wheel arch. You need to remove the plastic wheel arch liner to get access and then take the wire into the engine bay / battery. Once the liner is out of the way getting the wire through into the car is quite simple.

There is a permanent live feed from the battery to the fuse box inside the car. The own-brand dedicated towbar wiring kit from PF Jones connects direct to this which avoids any issues that can occur if a wire connected straight to the battery starts to chafe at all on its journey from under the bonnet. If you do run it through the bulkhead or wheel arch, make sure the wire is inside a secondary sleeve - this provides protection from that chafe (and so, short circuit) risk.
