Hi all. I've bought a Panda 1.2 8v.
Its showing an abs fault after changing the drive shafts. ( After a gearbox swap - put a punto box in as old one was totally destroyed and couplings on gearbox are larger on punto than the panda.) Drive shafts are 100% ABS Hubs as I took from my donor car.
I tried first of all a proxy alignment but it failed at dashboard node.UNKNOWN ERROR
I've got MES and tried to disable ABS temporarily but it's not on Panda Proxy menu. Done some reading and MES author says to use the Punto option in MES.
Any way, I cannot perform.a Proxy on either Panda or punto. Fails at DASHBOARD NODE.

Any ideas as to why?

Both gearboxes are not equipped with the gearbox speed sensor.
Prior to gearbox change there was not a ABS fault.
I've checked/ compared both drive shaft hubs and look identical. Checked punto bearings and have the abs sensors in them. So to does the panda.

Any advice , help much appreciated.

I dont know if the ABS is used to infer the speed but if it has a gearbox speedo sensor could it be a difference between Punto and Panda gearboxes is upsetting the ABS. I'm thinking speedo sensor type or counting rate.

Try the Panda speedo sensor to see if there's a different error message. Obviously check all connections to wheel sensors etc, but you've probably already done that.

Hi,

Neither gearbox had a speedo sensor.

Both sides sensors are untouched and plugged in.
I removed harness from the abs pump, sprayed with contact cleaner, but was spotless inside already.
Checked both 60 amp and 7.5 amp fuses.

I can only assume the drive shaft hubs from punto are the problem as everything else is (apart from gearbox) is standard original to the car.

The fault sometimes clears but as soon as I drive and put the brakes on it activates abs and then light comes back on.

I am unable to connect through MES to ABS ECU and unable to Proxy align to disable ABS
