Styling Abarth Headlights on an Active?

This may be a daft question, but I'm a little new to the mechanicals of my Punto: will the front headlights from a 2008 Grande Punto Abarth fit properly onto a 2010 1.4 Active?

A little advice would be appreciated; I've thought about simply tinting the stock lights, but the Abarth variant look gorgeous.

Hey and welcome to the forum!

You have Series 1 & 2 for lights on the GP. You'll need to know which yours is first, and what they are coming off of the 08 Abarth. I can't recall the dates for when they switched to S1/2. The connections are slightly different i believe, and won't fit each other. Mine is a 2010 GP 'Sound' and i'm sure mine was S2 when i put Abarths on mine.

Someone will be able to tell you on here if yours is S1 or S2, i couldn't say.

It'll be a straight fit yes, once you figure out if yours is an S1 or 2, and get the abarth lights in from the same series.

Then its just a case of loosening the bumper to fit them, or drop it off completely (i did this). Dropping it completely prevents you from bending it too much, as some members have not been able to get the bumper back where it was originally due to bending it to far the way it shouldn't.

What kind of key do you have? Flip out or just a key. What colour are your front and rear badges.

If your key flips out and your badges are red and not blue then you should have an s2

If you have a 2010 reg then you are pretty much guaranteed to have an s2

Yeah you can't be 100% certain. If you have both your more likely to have an s2.

I guess the only way to be 100% sure would be to check your headlight connectors.

That is true but i'm sure I saw a member on here where that actually was the case!

best bet mate would be to check your lights to see what connector they have. My car is a 09 plate....with aaaaaall the signs that point towards it being a s2 although when I bought s2 lights they didn't fit as I had s1connections.

So both series have 7-pin connections, but the Series-2 have a purple 8-hole plug and the Series-1 have a yellow 14-hole plug?

Looks like mine's a Series-2, as it's got the purple 8-Hole connector. I'll order the parts accordingly, thanks for the help everyone!
