Hi I have a dilemma, I really miss the sunroof I had in my 500 and have sourced an American company than do a what looks quality kit for a 600.
My worry is as its not original will it ruin the car or should i just go for it as it will make using the car on a daily basis so much better?
I'll add my car is not a show car by any means but has had only one other family own it.
I've attached a photo of the kit, what's your thoughts?

I like to think of a car as a tool. I feel that it's meant to bring you joy and take you places while doing so, so... I vote you put it in and make it better for how you use it.

Hello,

I own a 500, 600 and 850. The 600 isn't on the road but the 850 is and to be honest I don't really miss the sunroof when I drive it. I'm in Ireland so like you we don't get tropical weather.
A chap down the country in Cork has a Seat 850 and while it was in Spain obviously suffered hail damage, he was toying with the idea of getting a webasto roof as its own would take a miracle to straighten out.

If you are on Facebook have a look for the attached page, the poster on there maybe able to help you if you are going that way. If the attachment doesn't load, the page is called: Fiat 600D Spare Park Market and car in the post looks to be a UK machine too.

Yes Gavin that's a factory fitted car, the roof is moulded different to a standard car.

To update anyone who's interested I ordered a top, 6 week lead time.
When it came it was an inch longer than specified which meant it would cover part of the indent of the roof at the rear which wouldn't look right.
After speaking to Legacy they agreed to supply another and I asked for them to make it a smaller size to fit better 40" x 32" which they have agreed to.
The top they sent is very good quality ally frame with waterproof material and black lining.
Only problem is another 6 week wait.
Attached some photos of the actual top.
When new one comes I'll put on the install.

Registered just to post here, keep us updated. I made my own with bed slats 😄 yet to open the roof.
I plan on using a rubber trim around for sealing and overlapping the canvas.

Don't intend to go fast or in much rain anyways. The plan is to hold it down by corresponding slats on the inside with wingnuts.

Just wondered if you could fit some aluminium strip with a curtain rail attached to slide it along, attached a rough drawing?

I think I'll just have it laying on the roof and held down by three internal slats. It will be easier to explain when I've made the cut.

I sewed in s steel wire around the perimeter to stiffen it up.
