Hi

Does anyone know whether the thin L-shaped pipe running across the top of the tank in the picture is standard on an 'N' tank?

Thanks
Steve

yeahhh I don't think the very first cars had them....
some go all the way round the outside edge...

they are sort of an overflow/return pipe ...
Because the tank is a flat (more elegant, poor) design the fuel sloshes up the filler neck more when driving and when filling, so it lets it back into the tank than rather out of the breather hole....
Well that is what I was told....

My 500N tank does not have that pipe

yeahh but yours is one they shipped off to the States 1/2 finished :):):)

Not sure when yhey were introduced...
This the sort of detail that is lacking from Fiat books etc...

I have said before there are about 50 different revisions of the 500 throughout it's life (not simply N D F L R), I'm sure that those revisions were because of technical or design changes....
