The cables on my wife's 2010 500C have all snapped where the boot hinges are. Is this a common problem? Is a new loom available or do I need to make one myself? Any help appreciated.

is it that time consuming if you've got the kit? It’s a fiddly time consuming job. Would recommend using a repair loom like this, or drop off at your local Auto Electrician (they will be familiar with this fix).
It's time consuming for the hatch but I think the C only has about 5 wires rather than the 12-15 on the hatchis it that time consuming if you've got the kit?
Bit of talc on the wires helps 'em slide through more easily. Its 7 on mine..i think. More pain to be fair trying to thread wires through the gromits than the soldering/heat shrink and removing installing covers
Kits are the way forward imho as it looks tidier
I used a lubricant and the inside of a calpol plunger but it was NOT easy to do,.Bit of talc on the wires helps 'em slide through more easily.
