dunno if they are doing it everywhere but my local is doing 30% off if you collect rather than have it delivered.

i had a minging sause at a hut, when i complained all i got was sorry the guy is new an used the wrong one, no offer to replace or refund
You must have been using a bad example. The one I work for offers exchanges if things go wrong providing the customer actually was telling the truth about it. I've had to exchange (Idea being the mistake pizza has to be whole when collected, no finishing off a half or so) a pizza at an address wen the customer said it was burnt when in reality it was only the cheese that was more well done than usual.
That said I somethimes can't trust my workmates from time to time. One occasion they would get the flat and house numbers mixed up on a ticket and I end up having to try to phone the customers, though this one for some reason had his mobile (no landline provided) turned off for me but on to complain to the store.
I find myself at wits end with the reception staff making beginner mistakes like this, fine if it's busy but if you don't know how to put an order down properly then ask the manager.
I carry a map, notes on unusual streets and a change holder with a red bull on long nights and some folks can't grasp how to put an order out for the right time.
Even so, I find some customers won't even take the hint that if the night is busy they have to expect a delay.
