General 4th year service- cambelt required?

It may be my turn for the 4th year cambelt service too but I am currently waiting on the dealership to tell me whether they deem it necessary as my car has done about 39146.38 miles so far.

I have received a quote of £487.50 from an independent garage so I don't expect anything less from the dealership itself :shakehead::cry:(n).

Make sure they put that in writing for you incase it does then fail (y)

Thanks. They said I should bring it back on Tuesday; they have ordered a cambelt kit for me and the grand total for that, as well as new wiper blades all around, is a decent (by most accounts) £509.15.

Why don't people do what I do buy the cambelt and water pump off internet the cambelt kit comes to £60 off ebay for oem one and about £25 for water pump. Then take it to garage to be fitted.

Because most decent garages will supply parts at trade cost anyway, which is about what you pay, and most will not Warrent parts they haven't supplied which is fair enough.
