Hi all Good news:p have had a date of 2nd Sept, for my new panda (crossover black, 1.2 dynamic eco).

Had the 3rd seat in the back and just wondered if there were any pics of this

Hi Dave,

Just been outside and taken some pics of MrsP's Eleganza....It's an 05 plate, but I'm guessing it has the same configuration?

Standard belts on the L & R seats but the middle has two buckles....You clip the 'loose' one in and then the fixed one on the end clips into the second buckle....It's really good because it gives you a proper 3-point belt....

And I'm glad I went and took the pics, because I had never looked at it before so I didn't have a clue how it worked!

Mine is Crossover Black, i really like the colour..........But keep your weekends free................. For Cleaning!!!!! :D

Good to see a pic of the 3rd seat belt, if i had the option i would have paid for it. But as mine was an internet deal i had no choice of spec.

It is better than having an unsecured adult sat in the middle, is that legal i wonder?
That's a bit of a grey area.

The law states that "where fitted" seatbelts must be worn at all times.

Technically, the Panda is a 4-seater car unless the '3rd Rear Seatbelt for 5-Seater' option is fitted, but it is unclear whether fitting a lap belt not specifically designed for the car (as I assume the ones fitted by T14086 are?) legally makes it a 5-seater.

Are they legal now?

Yeah, why wouldn't they be?

No, as the standard Panda is a 4 seater ;)

For those that have the 3 point 3rd belt, do your V5's reflect this, as knowing Fiat and the mass muck up with the sportings being registered incorrectly ;)

I thought the legislation had been changed.

I remember reading something when I was working for Ford back in about 2005/6 that explained why they changed form a lap belt to three full seatbelts on the Fiesta, and that is was due to a change in legislation.

Oh right, could be.

Not sure.

Would make sence as the lapbelts are not exactly safe.

Maybe not legal, but better than nowt! It would save me buying a new windscreen at least :D.
When i was a kid Dad's Triumph Herald had no seat belt's for us three kid's. My first car, Austin A40 had no seat belts for front passengers either, and no brakes!!!!
WE ARE WRAPPED IN COTTON WOOL.

Do car V5's show the number of seats? I thought only minibuses had to show them?

Again when I was with Ford the Galaxy was available with either 6 or 7 seats, but there was no difference on the V5 that I can remember.

Number of seats is a standard field on the EU format for vehicle registration documents so I would assume the V5C does. Field S.1 on the EU setup.

Fiat Ireland correctly have the 100HP down as 4 seater on mine which I'm surprised with!

Just checked a V5C for a Panda Cross (not entirely sure why I have it in the boot of my car  ) and you're right, it does. In this case it's 4 as well.

Just need someone with the '3rd Rear Seatbelt' option to check theirs now...
