Hi all. Does anyone happen to have a wiring diagram or information on how to fit some wiring for my Ducato fiat Auto trail Imala motorhome please?
Many thanks . Exactly why I didn't want to go to far with it as I though I might get in trouble if I went with the past. Also thanks for you connection link. PhilHi
I don't have a wiring diagram for recent models like yours. What I can tell you is that the lights are controlled/monitored by a CAN-bus system, so you can't just piggy-back trailer lights onto them as used to be done in previous years.
I suggest you look at a company like P F Jones, who offer compatible wiring kits.
See: https://www.pfjones.co.uk/towbar-wi...cato-van-2011-onwards-towbar-wiring-kits.html
Many thanks Ill take a look.Or. you could get a 'bypass relay' quite cheaply, it just needs a + and - supply from a key controlled source, then you CAN (no jest intended!) just piggy back off the lights to that, like in the 'good old days'! The power comes from up front,(or wherever you found it) and the light splices only take minute currents to operate the relay, and it won't upset your CANBUS. Have a look on t'internet.
If you really want to splice into a new van, feel free! But the plug n play system is flawless, removable, and works well with fogs & reverse sensors when towing.
Sometimes, life is too short! Keep an eye on PFJ on ebay, and remember boxer & ducato have same connectors - I bought the boxer kit from them on ebay with an ebay deal code for <£100 - a lot cheaper than their site direct.

Yes its a right game and when you but one of these things and then look underneath you realise just ho bad they are build . Wires everywhere. many thanks for now. Ill send a photo of how bad it isThe plug n play kit goes in the rear light clusters. But if you have a MH and their own bespoke lights and connectors, yes, may be more interesting and less obvious! Interesting lol - could be literally anything couldn't it! The bare chassis don't have rear lights and not sure about cables as they'd not know how long they needed to be.
Hmmm.
On that note, I'm off - but do let me know if you succeed!
