Hi all. Does anyone happen to have a wiring diagram or information on how to fit some wiring for my Ducato fiat Auto trail Imala motorhome please?

Hi

I don't have a wiring diagram for recent models like yours. What I can tell you is that the lights are controlled/monitored by a CAN-bus system, so you can't just piggy-back trailer lights onto them as used to be done in previous years.

I suggest you look at a company like P F Jones, who offer compatible wiring kits.

Many thanks . Exactly why I didn't want to go to far with it as I though I might get in trouble if I went with the past. Also thanks for you connection link. Phil

Or. you could get a 'bypass relay' quite cheaply, it just needs a + and - supply from a key controlled source, then you CAN (no jest intended!) just piggy back off the lights to that, like in the 'good old days'! The power comes from up front,(or wherever you found it) and the light splices only take minute currents to operate the relay, and it won't upset your CANBUS. Have a look on t'internet.

Hi,
I had an 2018 Ducato 250 and have installed a towbar incl. the electric kit.
There are at least two different kits: One for 'under' the car and this is the correct one, at least for me. I had a 'normal' length of the car of 599 cm:
The set came from JAEGER No. 21500565J https://www.aukup.de/anbauanleitungen/esaetze/21500565300013.pdf Ikea-like description!!
Some cables are going to the starter batt. with two fuses. All other connections are done on the rear side of the car, mainly in the pillars. There is no need to know the Ducato cabling.
One cable of the electric set controller had to disengage the sound of the rear parking sensors in the parking sensor controller box of the Ducato, if installed. This box was so deeply hidden, that I could not find the controller and disable the alarm sound.
All was very simple, except you need small hands. No CAN-Bus control at all.
Hope it helps

Many thanks Ill take a look.

If you really want to splice into a new van, feel free! But the plug n play system is flawless, removable, and works well with fogs & reverse sensors when towing.
Sometimes, life is too short! Keep an eye on PFJ on ebay, and remember boxer & ducato have same connectors - I bought the boxer kit from them on ebay with an ebay deal code for <£100 - a lot cheaper than their site direct.

Thanks I watched it this afternoon but its different on a Motorhome I believe. I certainly do not wish to go into wiring that I know nothing about. There is what appears to be a plug and play next to the leisure battery and I have asked Auto trail if this is the place as I cant find anything anywhere. Ps the main vehicle battery is under the nearside seat.

The plug n play kit goes in the rear light clusters. But if you have a MH and their own bespoke lights and connectors, yes, may be more interesting and less obvious! Interesting lol - could be literally anything couldn't it! The bare chassis don't have rear lights and not sure about cables as they'd not know how long they needed to be.
Hmmm.
On that note, I'm off - but do let me know if you succeed!
