Hi everyone,
I recently bought a 2016 Fiat 500C, unfortunately with a common issue – the trunk only opens with the remote, a warning about an open trunk appears on the display, and the roof doesn't fully open.
I’ve already checked the wiring and the button in the handle – everything seems to be fine.
The only thing that raises doubts is the trunk latch itself. The one installed in my car has the part number 55701971. According to the parts catalog, this latch is intended for the regular (non-cabrio) Fiat 500. From what I’ve gathered, the correct latch for the cabrio version should have the number 52161769. This might be the root of the problem.
Before I go ahead and order a new latch, I’d really appreciate it if any cabrio owners with a properly working trunk could check and share the part number of their latch.
Thanks in advance for your help, and best regards!
