Hi all. Can any one help me with the problem I have or guide me in the right direction? I have a 2008 Fiat Ducato 2.2L 100bhp van and the engine management light is on. The OBD scanner gives me a P0180 reading. Where exactly is the fuel temperature sensor located on my van? Any help would be hugely appreciated.

Hi Angus

To the best of my knowledge the sensor is screwed into the body of the high pressure fuel pump. It has 2 connections running back to the ECU, and is basically a resistor that varies in value according to temperature. The fault code indicates a wiring error, i.e. the ECU is "seeing" a resistance value much higher or lower than expected. This could be a faulty sensor, a problem with the 2 pin connector or an open or short circuit in the wiring. See pics attached.

That you so much for your reply. That makes perfect sense that it’s on the actual fuel pump housing. I’ve been looking all over the net and simply can’t find the part I need. Do you by any chance know what the part number is for the fuel temp sensor for a 2008 Fiat Ducato 2.2L diesel 100bhp is? Every time I think I’ve found the correct one it says not for my specific model.
