Hello folks, newbie and on my second FIAT, this time a 2006 Grande Punto Sporting 1.4 16V. Spent a lot of time searching before I registered and posted this, but i can't find anything remotely like my issue.
The key fob works to lock and unlock the car fine if I push the relevant button, but the keyless entry function has simply stopped working. There seems to some sort of proximity detection system that has managed to turn itself off. I have to say though, that my wife is incredibly talented at destruction testing any sort of technology beyond a hammer and while the car is supposed to mine, she seems to have asserted some sort of wifely a priori clause I was unaware of over who gets to actually use it.
And destroyed the keyless entry in the process. I've had it a little over a week and the it used to happily lock and unlock itself. My wife took it to work and brought it home with this feature disabled.
Italian gremlins or is there an easy fix available?
