Hi all, new to punto's and my heads fell off with this one, before i start, i have looked through all the forums and posts i can for the last 3 days, ok hope someone can help, 2000 sporting 1.2 16v mk2 non cam sensor engine, driving along motorway 70/80, all of a sudden temp gauge goes up oil light comes on, loss of power, pulled onto hard shoulder, lifted bonnet and as you guessed oil everywhere, engine block ticking, extreamly hot, no water just lots of smoke, so yep head gasket gone bang, so cut a long story short mate had a rear end in his 2002, running sweet 59k cam sensor engine, so for a tidy 110 quid and some beer motor was mine.
Took engine outa mine with engine wiring loom, changed his loom for mine as there was i think 3/4 more connections on his, extra 02, air con, cam sensor, so to recap new cam sensor engine with my non cam sensor loom, i guess it would be ok just to leave cam sensor on just not connected ?
so go to start, hear fuel pump prime once turns over but no start, plugs out check for spark no spark, turn ignition on for second time about 20mins later no fuel pump prime ??
so hears my problem no spark and no fuel, now i know your all going to say crank sensor......tried both mine and me mates, also bought a new one, so its not that, checked all fuses all ok, havent got anything to check relays with except me eyes, keep reading about a white relay for the fuel pump, i dont have a white one under dash or in engine bay ??
Any ideas guys or anyone local to warrington can come and plug diagnostics in ??
Oh yes i have double checked and more all the connections/condition or wires loom, all the earths, etc
Only thing i can think of is the ECU ? has it got to hot in the engine bay before the head gasket blew ?
There is a live going to the middle pin of the coil pack (only one on mine), no live feed to crank sensor. Is there anymore fuses or relays that i dont know about ?
Sorry for the long post, but i wanted to be as discriptive as possible so as not to waste anyones time, any help/ideas are most welcome, other wise the petrol can and matches are coming out !!!!
