Have a Fiat Ducatio Year 2000 van that has been converted into a camper, it has a 2.8 idTD with 120k on the clock but no service history, going to get the cam belt changed, anything else you would change that could potently go on a engine of this age? Also what sorry of money is a cambelt change on this?

The ouatandaboutlive forum thread linked to here, relates to the more recent 2.3 multijet engine. That engine has twin camshafts, and unlike the 2.8 idTD, does not require the injection pump to be timed. However it does mention several costs for the task. From the linked thread perhaps the water pump should be considered for replacenent.

Still can't find a price on this :(
The 2.8JTD engine has a similar/identical arrangement of the timing belt, but does not require the injection pump to be timed. Perhaps you could use prices for the 2.8JTD and then add an allowance for the injection pump.

is the water pump on a separate belt?
