Technical 2.4 not starting

Wife borrows car to go to supermarket. Why does it only break when she drives it?
Will not restart for return journey. I tow it home and examine things. Lots of random errors including immobiliser, esr, gearbox etc
Will not crank over.
Fan has odd behaviour. Starts when the door opens and times out after a while. If ignition is on the fan runs continuously.
Battery is near new and fully charged.
I have Multiecuscan which will connect to various computers OK but not the Engine ecu. (fault with ecu or canbus?)

Is the one you are looking for, choose this on the list (under your Fiat Stilo 2.4 Selespeed type), and connect to it in MES.

I guess this is going to be a mean earth issue, or short circuit somewhere. Check fusebox (carefully disassemble, then clean - there is a guide for how to do that), check connections at battery terminals, grounding points - on alternator too...

Hope you will find the culprit!

I can connect to body computer. The ones listed are the ones I can connect to.
The engine ecu will not talk to me but not sure if a communication or engine ecu fault.

Got to the bottom of it. A loose earth lead to the engine. Cheap easy fix.
Identified by using multimeter and with ignition on found voltage between battery earth and engine block. It should be zero.

It just shows one should not always think the worst when multiple errors occur and check the obvious (and things not going to cost anything) first.
