Ulysse 2.0 petrol p reg

hey all, new to the site, and have a problem if anyone can help. My p reg fiat ulysse, 2.0 petrol wont start at all, only if i bump start it. I turn the ignition on and when i come to turn to start there is nothing at all, not even the sound of the click from the solenoid from the starter motor. this happens also when im driving and i come to a stop and the car cuts out and does exactly what i have described. any ideas please, cause really want to keep the car due to accesability and size of family
