Technical 1996 1.2 8v into a 2002 1.2 8v does it fit?

This is for my sisters car, the bottom end has gone at only 53000 miles.
Im going to buy a whole car tomorrow as it is cheaper and need to know if it fits will be greatly appreciated

iam going to guess you talking about the engine..

if i recall. mk1 engines dont fit in a mk2 car.. as the bay for the engine is a completely different shape.. not to mention the 1996 mk1 engine is a very weak engine and you would be best getting a second hand mk2 engine from a scrapped car...
