Hi all, having bother with the wiring on my 1.2 16v conversion, well... immobiliser, i'm stumped. :(

this is what i've got

cinq d4--------punto loom
Orange to Orange
purple/black to purple/black
grey/green to grey/green
grey/yellow to grey/yellow
orange/green to brown/white
red/white to blue/black
red to blue
x2 blue/white to reverse sensor

spare wires on cinq d4

green/white (for dash temp hookup)
orange/black
orange/blue
black/white

Spare wires on punto loom

red
pink/yellow
green/white
black/white
black/grey

earths
main engine loom earth to gearbox earth point
small black/grey to coil pack
red to ecu casing
black to ecu casing

ecu, code box, key and antenna are all from the same running car (allegedly 100% from breakers), code light is permanently on, fuel pump is not priming (so clearly immobilization issue) and i also don't have an injector light coming on (not sure if this is just because of the immobiliser).

Ran an earth direct from code box black to test and it made no difference.

any ideas or anything look or sound wrong from the wiring hookup list?

Thanks.

I should add as well that i got so fed up of it, i ripped out the 16v ecu, code box, antenna and used the known working and paired 8v code box, ecu, key and antenna plugged into the 16v wiring and that isn't deactivating it's immobiliser ether, so given they are similar series of ecu's i can;t see them being wired up that differently, so surely that points to wiring?

right, i used 2 posts on this forum to wire mine up.

I checked and both these posts actually match each other, one using colours and the other using pin numbers on the connector - i had missed an earth on mine which was the only reason mine didn't fire first time.

from the guides
https://www.fiatforum.com/cinquecen...q-useful-info-links-gars14.html#content_start

from random thread
https://www.fiatforum.com/cinquecento-seicento/283913-cinq-d4-connector-wires.html?p=2874895

So what i did was take my old cinq engine loom, cut the D4 off it and the punto engine loom and then connected the wires as per posts above, punto engine loom to cinq D4 from engine loom side.

There is a bundle of wires with a ring on the punto loom, this needs earthing or the code light doesn't go out - i bolted it to the block down the back near the starter, just above the sump.

From memory the only wires not on that list are 2x white/light blue which are reverse light and go anyway round to the 2 white/light blue on the D4.

Problem solved!!

The wiring itself was "fine", the problem was the red/black to the bullet terminal, on mine, i'd wired it via a fuse on the ecu casing that was there before on the cinqs standard setup and the fuse had blown, wired it direct and it all worked first time!

Relieved :D

Ah, thread revival.

I'm baffled, everything has been working since the last update but the car had other issues and recently changed the gearbox, i've started the car 5 or 6 times since replacing the gearbox, most recently had it running on Saturday.

So fitted a new battery tonight (old one was finished and i'd been jump starting it from my other car), but now it's dead. Electrically everything is working except the code light isn't coming on and of course the fuel pump is not priming. So clearly the lack of code light indicates it's not triggering the immobilizer. Won't start on the new battery of from a jump.

I haven't touched anything electrically since it last ran Saturday, all fuses i can find are fine, the trigger wire from the bullet terminal (what caused the same symptoms before on this thread) is fine, tested for continuity and it's complete.

Clearly all the loom is ok as it has been running and hasn't been touched, earths all seem clean and intact.

Totally lost, any suggestions?

Just a little update incase anybody ever has a problem with their immobiliser code light not coming on etc, i fixed the problem, it was the purple/black that had split where it was joined to the d4 connector.

Had rewired the horn a few days before and also fitted my cda filter and had clearly pulled it out the way or stretched something without knowing and broke the join.

Joined them up and it worked first time.

Loom now off the car and ready to all be soldered and heatshrinked (y)
