Just curious, can I swap the ECU in a 2003 MK2B Active Sport 1.2 L 16v without any difficulty or do I need to change the ignition barrel, locks and key too?

Certainly did, my Northern friend! You need keys, body module, locks & ECU. All off a 2B because 2A ones are different.Do I hear spoke too soon
Or a virgin ECU for £65, 5 minute job.Certainly did, my Northern friend! You need keys, body module, locks & ECU. All off a 2B because 2A ones are different.

You don't need the ring, it's just an aerial.

Better searching by code off the ECU, never heard of one going causing a drain, you've definitely double checked the earth on bell housing.
Have you parked the car in complete darkness to see if any lights are still on.Yup, cleaned up all the earthing points.
Haha. Not because of the misfire but because of this battery drain I'm having.
The only thing I can think it might be now is the ECU it's self. Who knows what's going on in there and something could be slowly draining the current.
Where can I get a virgin ECU for 65 pounds? I've checked eBay but can only find virgin 8 v units.
Thanks.

Remove the negative clamp at the vehicle battery post.
Place one lead of a test lamp on the negative post of the battery and the other on the negative clamp lug.
The lamp glows if there is a parasitic drain.
The lamp will be dead, if there is no drain.
Just read it is possible for an ECU to cause battery drain.

Turned out be power steering ECU
that battery drain of yours, did you do parasitic test?
To do this, set your multi-meter to “amps”.
Disconnect the positive battery terminal. Connect the negative probe of your multi-meter to the battery terminal connector and the positive probe to the actually battery post...
Wonder if you could cut the power to steering and see if it stops
