Gasket is no problem and 85 block and 75 block differ only as far as the mainbearin shells go. The 85 ones are prepared for the strengthening plate connecting the five main bearings.

Was looking at the bearings for the cranks tonight on;

1.2 16v mk2
1.4 16v
1.1 8v sei

the bearings are all the same for the cranks.

1.1 8v cinq is different though, and haven't looked at 1.2 8v mpi, but is that the same as the cinq one then?

Interesting to hear, you'll have to let me know any issues you come across.

I'm thinking of going for a Supersprint 1242 8v 4-2-1 manifold, getting a Sports cat made up & going for a SS backbox this side of Summer, as my exhaust has seen better days with deep rust patches along the run (has already been welded in a couple of spots).

I figure if I'm fixing it I might as well make some progress toward a bigger lump while I'm at it :yum:

You sure? I have mains and big ends different for all 1.1 and 1.2. Generally the shell thicknesses are the same, the diameters different. My source the Porter book. Yours?

ePER may be wrong, but surely it would have been corrected by version 40?

The actuall cranks DO differ (probably stroke etc), but looks like the shells on all 3 are the same?

Interesting. Looks like -- and it would make sense from a manufacturing POV -- the 1.2 was the big step (Porter gives the 8 and 16v as the same) -- and the 1.1 Cinq dimension became obsolete.

If I get a chance I'll wade through the 'orrible pdf manuals from FIAT see what they say about the dimensions of the Cinq and Sei 1.1.
