I'm starting to look for an alternative set, and having review previous older threads I haven't seen anything ideal. Not getting them right now but looking for options. They'd be fitted with tyres that I only use on occasion.

Need to be light and cheap, not too worried about style (but musn't be "boy racer"). Something motorsport focused would be perfect. Must be 6.5 X 15. Does anyone have anything that fit's the bill?

OZ wheels are usually quite light, as are speedline wheels too. Though sometimes you will get wheels like 2118's which are very heavy and certainly not light at all

I would suggest Team Dynamics Pro Race 1.2's but I don't think they can be bought in 6.5 x 15. I'm under the impression that they're lightweight and very good value for money though.

They're readily available and have a good reputation (Honda use them on the Mugen Civic Type-R) and Team Dynamics/Rimstock supply to some big manufacturers nowadays.

I wouldn't be too worried about sticking to 6.5 j Dan, 7's are far more common, and would hardly have a negative effect to be fair.

If you do opt for some OZ rims, Super or / Ultraleggera's will be just the job, not least as they come with a 37mm offset, just remember to have the appropriate spigot rings and some interference bolts, more commonly known as wobbly bolts.

Just seen a set of Ultraleggeras go for £200 (including tyres) on ebay so, bargains are out there, but these styles of wheel are very sought-after as you can well imagine.

Yeah there are some real bargains out there. I got a brand spanking new (in the box) set of gold Speedline 2118's for our Subaru for £250 which is an absolute steal considering they generally cost twice that.

Thanks for the suggestions, as I know absolutely nothing about alloy wheels the advice is most welcome. Will do some more reading based on the above.

If I get the wheels it would be for competition purposes, and the rules state that the wheels need to retain stock dimensions. So have to stick with 6.5 x 15.

Wheels or tyres need to retain stock dimensions?

The stock size 195/45/15 tyres will fit no problem on a 7" wide wheel.

Rota make some great lightweight wheels 5.5kg for a 15" wheel
They make 6.5x15

I have a new set of grids sat in my garage which I was going to put on my car but never did.
Should sell them but still may use them one day

Is this worth doing though? have you found any wheels significantly lighter than the originals? If it's for competition use and looks don't matter i'd be weighing the stock wheels first before you spend your money. I had 15 x 6.5 turinis on my 106 rallye and don't think they were overly light, pretty strong mind.

I reckon you'll find they're quite heavy. The 6.5x16 alloy wheels on my 500 weigh an absolute ton! I can carry one of my winter steelies with tyres on in each hand but it's a struggle to carry one of the alloys with 2 hands!

Only give it some thought for competition purposes and the possible need for "1B" tyres. Had assumed that the stock wheels would be too expensive and heavy..

Will do a couple of events this year and see how the car and I go, only then will I look at spending more money.

the stock wheels ARE too expensive for what they are (if you're buying another set of course) but if there is no pressing need for another set of wheels then I doubt you'll gain a huge advantage with lighter wheels

Keep an eye on ebay for some standard 100hp rims, they come up now and again and never go for much, also i'd have thought these would do...

i expect these will be the 15x 6.5 your after, sell the tyres and you'd have a cheap set of wheels, spray them black or something.. voila!
Tbh I would just buy a set of 2nd hand speedline's or OZ's on ebay. They'll be lighter than the 500 or Panda wheels. Oh and those 500 wheels are only 6" wide, not 6.5

Ah fair play! OZ/Speedlines are a good shout its just a case of finding them in the right offset/width, though if you can get away with 7J then thats half the problem solved.
