Technical 100hp exhaust - identical to 500 1.4 16v?

I know the 1.4 16v 500 is broadly the same underneath as the 100hp ...

But as the bodyshell is different... I just wanted to check if a 500 1.4 16v exhaust is the same dimensions, same mounting points and can just fit right in on a 100hp?

If not, is that due to all or just some sections (manifold/cat, middle section or back box section) being different fitments? Which ones?

I'm fairly certain the physical shape and dimensions are the same for all the 500's and Pandas.

The only real difference I know of is that the bore size is different depending on which engine.....but if it's a 1.4 and 1.4, I'd guess it'd be the same.

I fitted a stainless exhaust made for a 500 Abarth on my 1.3MJ Panda with no issues.

For yours, that tip is the style of the 500 1.2. Have you selected that tip or is that the 1.2 system?

I think the 1.2 system is 41mm bore whilst the 1.4 is 45mm ? Is that right? Does it matter!?

A 50mm bore flows 16x as much as a 25mm bore, so the size matters A LOT at the manifold headers which have to be the correct diameter and length for best effect. The ManiCat simply works as a collector to feed the catalyst. The outlet pipe and silencers simply have to be big enough.

Going from 43mm to 45mm would not matter and it would probably be fine going the other way. If you want more performance you'll need to fit a tubular manifold and underfloor catalyst.

This is for the 16V 1.2 so may well fit the 1.4 (but seller is not even slightly helpful). You would need to risk the return delivery costs and measure for fit before returning or using it. It would also need a catalyst under the floor. Not something to be skimped on if you want to avoid poisoning the street and failing the MoT.

These folks were helpful when I wanted to replace my mid box. They sell catalysts at reasonable price. Worth a phone call to discuss.

As far as am aware they also had the same tip on the 1.4 500 sport
Ebay item 324163855026 shows this exhaust fits both the 500 and the panda 1.4 16v

The suppliers are completely unhelpful. Information on the adverts is minimal and the sellers seem to know nothing more. The 1.2 8V absolutely will not fit the 16V 1.2 or 1.4. The 1.2 16V version MIGHT FIT the 1.4. The only way to know is buy one and take the hit on return costs of it won't fit. The 4-2-1 design is the best flowing for any 4 cylinder engine. There are calculators on the web that give pipe sizes and lengths.

My concern the cheap manifold catalyst may not be big enough to pass the MoT and being so close, it corks the gas flow. The advantage of a 4-2-1 with underfloor cat is you can use one from any car that will fit the space. With a bash plate perhaps.

Understandable that about a possible poor cat, the thing with buying the manifold without the cat is the lambda probe sockets are in the same place even though there isn't a CAT! Surely if you put a new manifold in that doesn't have a cat, then place a new CAT in a different place the lambda sensors still need to be in front of and behind the CAT? And would you put the CAT after the flexi?

I can't get fully into ePER today but the 1.4 has it's own section with regards manifolds.
The picture shows all other petrol engined Panda manifolds, not one of the part numbers match.

Finally got into a Polish ePER, the 1.4 exhaust manifold certainly has a unique part number (51838402).

Lambda sensors have to be fitted before and after the catalyst. You can't just chuck on a catalyst and use the manifold Lambda sockets. However cheap manifolds with welded in catalyst are a gamble. If the cat is not big enough you are stuffed as its welded in. The one in question is likely to be little better than the standard Manicat and you still risk it smoking the streets and failing MoT.

I don't run a cat in any of my cars and they don't smoke.

If the car is running spot on, the emissions without a cat won't be too far out either.

It is unlikely the cat won't be big enough, it's more likely to just contain very little of the precious metals etc that actually make it work.

I bought a cheap cat a while back and the construction was very much like a sports cat so was great for performance
