I agree! just don't quite look right does it, I fancy twin oval exhausts, but wouldn't mind a lower bit on my bumper to fit round them too, I think the Abarth bumper may be compatible with that kind of fettling!

the exhaust from novitec is good but i thought you were looking for a pipe only and as i know novitec offers a whole exhaust with the back box.so do you want you pipe to look good from behind or do you want to change your whole exhaust???

OK first apologies coz i'm going to come over as a bit of a tw*t but if you haven't got the horses you are really talking about looks coz it aint gonna make any difference to performance so go to halfords & buy the best endpipe that's out there. OR go to a PROPER tuning shop & have a custom system made that suits your car. I've also got an 1100 Uno that would embarrass most would-be hot-shots. Pay the money or pay the the price - I hope you never meet me in our lass's uno ------BYE BYE

Hmm yeah, I'm sure a 1.1 uno would **** on me;)

Oh, yeah, your right,

You do come over as a tw*(edit)t!

Who among us has claimed thus far to have a fast car? Or made out that uprating the exhaust is for anything other than styling?

You (edit)misguided individual[xx(]

Not putting my Moderator head on or anything but let's keep it civil please as we've had a few problems of late as you know with Steve and his active serial murderer stalker.

We don't want to encourage too many of them on these forums and as his user name suggests................................

Psycho.... eee...eee.eee.ee.ee.ee.eeee. arrrghhh! [)]

1.1 Uno pissing all over my tuned 1275 mini, yeah only if your radiator springs a leak! :p

Next time, if there is a next time, read the whole post, at one VERY important point it is noted that fitting a sports exhaust creates more noise for very little performance gain, plus it rapes your insurance. Whereas a bit of shiny exhaust trim looks nice, doesn't turn your car into the noisiest vehicle this side of a challenger tank and it won't affect your insurance premium! :p

Sorry TC:I

Not wanting to pick fights or out, but I just don't like the way this guy struts in, and starts slagging us off[:(!]

He obviously had the attitude 'I have and an Abarth, it is supremely supperior to your cars, so I can say and do as I like'.

A bit of banter and difference of opinion is what is a forum is all about, thats fine, but to steam straight in, with this kind of attitude is just rude really.

Anyway, like I say, I'm not trying to start fights, so this is the last I will say on the subject.

Oh except for one thing, the best feature of this board, in general, is a lack of snobbery, it doesn't matter if you drive a 750 Panda, or a mad assed Coupe Turbo, everyone just gets on, and respect others, lets keep it like that;)

And as for Steve's stalker, imagine his face if 50 of us turn up on his door step[)]

Ok James

No need for the apology mate, I wasn't reprimanding you or having a pop at you in any way, we are all equal, and all human, (I've let off steam occasionally too).

I was just pointing out that we need to keep it friendly as you and others are aware of the current situation with Steve. (there is also another issue bubbling away elsewhere that might get ugly)

So carry on with the banter, joking, fun, homosexual innuendo (in Steve Cs case), etc and let's all enjoy ourselves!

Excellent:D

Now, back to the subject of exhausts, our new friend here raised a valid point, there is always the option of having a quality stainless system custom made. Personally I'm not after a hike in performance, but I can apprecite how something like that would enchance the car.

So, if you put our previous spat aside, any chance of a bit more info on the system you have?

Oh and I'd take your uno any day;)

Mmm, it's a questionable proposition James, my mate has a custom built system (removing the cat too) for his Saxo and this is where it gets silly, are you sitting down, it cost him £800, now I'd say that's a lot of wonga for something that sits under the car hidden away, makes a lot of noise and only gives you 2/3bhp gain! [:0]

That is a little pricy[:0]

I'm sure wimmy got one for his bravo for quite a reasonable price.

I certainly won't be paying £800 for an exhaust, if it was an appreciating classic I was gonna keep for ever, maybe, but not on a car I'll only probably have another 2-3 years

I spend £150 for a stage 1 kit for my mini, which consisted K&N filter, new inlet manifold, new exhaust manifolk and RC40 twin silencer sports exhaust! Made a huge difference to the cars drivability, however i will agree it generates a lot more noise now, although half what i've heard a lot of other mini's with single box stainless exhaust!

I don't want to increase the sound of my Stilo, i've actually noted at idle and when revved its actually louder than its competitors (Focus, Golf etc).

Anyway the Abarth doesn't have much on a 1.2 Stilo, yeah you've got 170bhp, but then its got a 2.4 engine, i've got 1.2 and 80bhp. Half the capacity, half the power! You've got a clever semi-auto box, i've got a 6-speed box, so equal i'd say! You get a clever stereo, well i could pick up one of them on ebay, and i may well one day! Oh and i saved over £10k on you, so i could go and buy something specifically sporty, or invest it on my Cooper or an extension!

My mate, spent £800 on a full stainless system, it is a straight through system, no cat, flows into two pipes at the back, and comes out one either side, looks ok, sound like a motorbike with race cans on, feels like you're going faster but I puut this down to the increased volume levels! [xx(]
