Hi guys,calling from the cinq section! I bought a Mk1 1.2 16v engine from a breakers a while back,to find the Timing belt had slipped and bent 6 valves and a crack in the head on a water way! As the timing was out there was no way I could lock the cams on the holes in the cambox, without the valves touching the pistons and forcing them. I had no other choice to get the engine apart other than to take it apart untimed,I also removed the cam pulley to change the cam seal but didnt mark it and now I realise on hindsight I should have! So now has come to the time where I have bought a new head and need to re assemble so I was wondering wether some one has had the same thing and gone a way about it or could just point me in the right direction?
