How is the lighter fitted ?

In place of the power outlet (!). On mine, it shares the little panel between the handbrake and the cup holders with the electric mirror controls. Not right now, but I'll nip out and take a photo, including one with the panel lifted out, as I think that's what you want to see...

The physical lighter that Andi would be looking to shift/dump goes in to the power outlet, like on most cars.

Irish spec Actives come with the socket, the ashtray, and NO lighter. Never quite understood that one... the lighter is sod all use anyway, very hard to light a cigarette off it, I don't even know where my 100HP one has gone, its probably in the rear pax. footwell at this stage.

Here's the photos: one showing front of the panel in place (and the dirt!), the other showing the back, and identifying which wires go where. The panel itself easily flicks out -- use a wide thin blade to prise it up, putting the blade under the centre part of the long edge nearest the handbrake.

For info: The 12v socket is different to the lighter unit - the lighter is illuminated (the bulb is in the black housing by my thumb), and the bottom of the lighter socket has a metal spring in it to hold the lighter down until it gets hot. Putting the removable lighter element into a (non lighter) 12v power socket will not work (and may well short it out too)

Aaaaah I see, well the previous owner or my car was obviously a smoker as it's got a cigarette Lighter and ashtray neither of which are any good to me, but where the Ashtray sits in the front makes brilliant Cupholders for when I'm having my KFC on the move.

If anyone want's the lgihter and ashtray just pm me, I don't want or need it.

Whatever you do, don't leave a McDonald's or similar drink cup with a bit of drink still in it in the cupholders for a few weeks. My daughter did and the cups eventually seep drink ito the cupholder making a horrible sticky mess to clear out.
