So some time back a friend of mine who briefly owned a Stilo said his car would flash the hazard lights when unlocked from the remote key fob (similar to what VW cats and a lot of others do) to signalise it locking/unlocking. He also said the coming home lights (that can be manually turned on by pulling the full beam stalk for 30,60,90,... Secs) would switch on by default for one or so minutes after parking and switching the car off. These features where apparently somehow unlocked on the system computer by the previous owner when he was having the car serviced with Fiat and aren't standardly enabled on the car.

That was a while back but I swear I recently saw another Stilo flash it's lights when unlocked at a car park and remembered that I knew about this... Can these features be enabled or is it some witchcrafty madness? Do any of you have them unlocked and use them? If so, any idea on how much Fiat would charge for something like this?

Thanks,
Adam

Flashing lights are very easy, you just need MultiEcuScan, correct cable and code from your code card. You can buy your own cable (recommended), or ask on facebook group "Fiat Stilo forum Czech Republic". I can do that if you live near Hodonín.
Or you can take it to Fiat service, they can do it as well.

I didn't know about homecomming lights. I never used them.

My indicators flash when I lock/unlock the car, not the lights.

They do it all the time and I've not seen anything in the Menu that lets you change it, so it may not be something that can be changed by an owner.

I know in some countries, it's illegal for the car to make any "beep" noise when the alarm is set or un-set, so the Alarm behaviour could be programmed by the factory depending on where the car is going to be sold.

The follow-me-home lights are a function of the high beam stalk I think (I managed to activate mine once and it took a while for me to work out what was happening...). They always work so don't need to be activated by the menu etc. although that may only be true in UK. I don't know if such a feature is illegal in CZ, in which case, it's going to need a re-program rather than just a menu setting.

Your dealer won't activate anything that's illegal in CZ... so if they're disabled for that reason, then that's probably the best way to leave them.

On both of my Stilos, the "Follow Me Home" (as Fiat call it) function only works by pulling the full beam stalk.

The hazard lights on both of them flash twice when unlocking and once when locking with the remote. I assumed this was the normal way it worked.

For cars with the factory fitted alarm, you can change some of the settings with MultiEcuScan, or manually by using a combination of the ignition, hazard and rear fog lamp switches.

The flashing indicators for lock/unlock have to be enabled via the OBD port. It's not an option on the cars driver menu.

MES can do this as long as you have the code for your vehicle as it's done via the alarm section so need the code to access/enable.

Also think the follow me home lights have to be activated as well. I know I did my indicators but can't remember if I did the headlights at the same time.

Yes, I knew it was via the OBD port. My follow me home lights work - when I pull the high beam stalk my follow me home lights enable, but could they enable by default? I.e. - I park, turn off the ignition and the follow me home lights enable?

Also do you remember what a service centre charged for changing a few settings in the OBD? It's only a small thing, but it would be cool nonetheless.

I ment indicators my bad. My Stilo isn't fitted with the factory alarm (had to find that out the hard way), so no noises.

For some reason Stilo's here don't flash the indicators when locked/unlocked, but VW's and all sorts of other cars do so it can't be illegal.... Just puzzled why they wouldn't do so.

The follow me home lights work on my car the same as on yours in the UK

Thank you ! I'll definitely add myslef to the forum. I'm not sure I have the code card...
