Hi, I have "new" Stilo 115 JTD 2003, that came with one key without remote control. Also boot lock is stuck. With it I got set of two remote keys and all locks from wrecked 1.6 16v 2002 Stilo with it.

Can I replace the locks and programm these two keys to work with my car? I have code cards from both cars. Also ELM cable on the way and full copy of multiecuscan.

I have read some threads and somebody says it is not possible, somebody says it is possible..

Thanks for answers

In theory yes, since you have everything Fiat has when it builds the car - Remote keys, an ECU / Immobilisor and door locks.

First I would dump the idea about changing the door locks. It's a lot of messing about for no real reason, unless you have no friends/nothing else to do, etc. :D You can find/buy a blank Remote key and get a locksmith to cut it with your existing key pattern.

The next thing would be to program the new Remote key to your ECU/Immobilisor. This needs proper knowledge/equipment but you have an existing key so someone who knows how to do it, will be able to do it.

The alternative it to try to reprogram the "1.6" keys to suit your ECU. I don't think one method is better than the other (it's the same level of effort).

Third you need to get the central locking working. I don't know if the key program will allow the car to recognise the Remote signal or whether it's a separate process.. but again, if should be possible.

The Immobilisor is on the Body Control Module.... if you have access to the 1.6 still, I would try to get hold of it. That might give you another option - using the 1.6 chips on the 1.9 BCM, so then the 1.6 keys would work. I'm not sure if the 1.6 and 1.9 were similar enough that you can just transplant the BCM ... and moving the chips is probably more difficult than re-programming the keys... but it would be an option.

Thanks. I can try repairing the boot lock, so I woudn't need to change all the locks. It's not a big deal, but I don't like things not working.

Unfortunately the other car is scraped for years. But I have all doors in better shape from it :D so I will think about changing all of them. Locks were removed from them anyway.

I have read, that it should be easy to add new key. But I am little scared to try, because somebody said, once I remove old key car will add it to "black list" so it won't pair again...

You can reprogram the keys very easy and quite cheap compared to some places prices.

An old key will only get blacklisted if you do not program it along with any new keys, I did this by mistake and didn't program my original key, luckily enough it doesn't blacklist them straight away - I managed to redo the procedure before mine was not allowed.

And if worst comes to it, fine someone who who can Virginise or edit the code in your ecu directly (it has been done and is a last resort).

If you would like some help with programming your own keys and have MES licenced along with your security code from fiat and a modified elm cable (diagnostics cable) - I can help you program a new key for the immobiliser and remote central locking... You can also enable the indicators to flash whilst unlocking and locking the car (disable by default in uk).

Dan.

I have only ELM Bluetooth cable for 3$. I guess I won't be able to do it with this? I can buy colored cables from ebay if they are needed.
I have tried adding keys in multiecuscan simulation mode , but it says to remove the key to add another. Is it OK? I thought the electronics will shut down

I wouldn't trust a Bluetooth elm for messing with keys.

And yes, it does turn everything off when programming key 2 like you say but it does work, have done it a few times my self.

I am still waiting for USB ELM cable. But as I read in other thread, the chip in key can be programmed only once. So if it was used in other car I can not use it. Is there any way to replace just the chip? Or if I buy new key on Aliexpress/ebay can I program it by myself?
(I mean for immo the car, remote should be OK)
