Hi can anybody help me with my 2003 stilo jtd . The relay for the diesel pump in tank keeps burning out . Several times i have removed pump and tested it seems to be ok any suggestions would be great as keep on breaking down ?

Partially blocked fuel filter? or supply pipe to the engine? or faulty supply wiring to the pump? Although if that was the case, the fuse should blow before the relay burns out.

What fuse rating is fitted?
Is it the contacts or operating coil of the relay that's burning out?

Please do not post duplicate threads for the same problem.

Thanks for the advice . Could you tell me how to test the old relay many thanks :):):):)

With the relay (T10 I believe for the JTD) removed from the fuse box:

To test the operating coil, connect an ohmmeter between terminals 85 and 86 of the relay. The resistance should be about 200 Ω.

To test the contacts, connect a filament type headlamp bulb between terminals 30 and 87 of the relay, then connect a 12 volt power supply to terminals 85 and 86. As you connect the power supply, you should hear a click from the relay and the bulb should light.

You said in your original post "The relay for the diesel pump in tank keeps burning out", how do you know the relays keep burning out if you haven't tested them yet?
